I don't know what is being offered at FRA, but I would stick to western dishes if I were you. Unless Thai chefs are cooking, thai food on that route will not be that authentic.

For LHR-BKK route, they offer a sushi platter, and I would never get that as an option for a main course for first class (myself being Japanese)! I did order a fillet steak and that was fairly decent.

In any event, I think Thai has a long way to go in terms of offering quality meals for first class. The only thing I fully enjoy is cavier, being washed down with Dom Perignon...

My lobster ex Zurich was pretty ...... and hardly any meat. I ate a main course as well.

The Ostrich Steak ex Bangkok was quite tasty and the FA even left the bottle of Dom on my table so I could help myself!

I had curried chicken on LH F ex Montreal - it was absolutely awesome.

Also LH served vodka with dry ice - looked like a smoking volcano - with their caviar, a nice touch!

I only see one pre-order menu - are there some for their different routes?

How many times must we warn all of you about ordering the LOBSTER? Shame, shame................
we will have to slap your hands next time!

They do not do it well.

It is tough.

It is overcooked.

It is dry.

It is poor.

That is all, except you and I have the same number of posts.

They have a different menu for routes going TO Bangkok - but not all stations (cities) have it.

Go to their web site to get the list for the country going to BKK.

The ex-BKK menu is the same for everyone, however.

Here are pictures of all the meals ex-BKK (scroll down):

There ARE menus for both of these stations.

Do it this way for the different menus if you have a booking.

Go to the link below and enter your data.

http://www.thaiair.com/AWR_PREM/view-trip.jsp

Do NOT click on "meal" - scroll down to "request", which is highlighted in blue, and click on it.

This will show you each secvtor and whether or not you can book a meal ahead. Click on each sector and you can see all the choices for that sector. I've tried multiple times in the past to actually order from here, but it never "takes". At least you'll be able to see the choices. You'll have to phone them to actually book the meal (that is an adventure in itself).

Whats good out of PEK?

I am still tempted to go for the Lobster (I will have to come back for the hand slapping)

First time in TG F, but flew SQ in C recently and food was very dissapointing.

This flight is a direct turn from BKK origin. I'm unsure if they will cater for the F meals at BKK or at PEK. If at PEK, I'd recommend you avoid seafood and particularly something like lobster. Dry and tough are the least of your worries. Due to high propensity of poor quality seafood sourcing and/or likelihood of mishandling by Chinese airport catering, be careful.

Didnt think of that and as someone in the hospitality industry, I should have.

I seriously doubt that Beijing Airport catering is following HACCP and god knows where the lobster came from.

Thanks!

Their regular meal is also good.

Tried the Thai fried rice with chicken (I don't remember whether it had another name on the menu; it's served with an egg) on a flight ex-BBK a couple of weeks ago and it was far superior to anything else I've ever tried off the special menu...

NRT-BKK in F

I am due to fly NRT-BKK in F and wondering if anyone has tried a Japanese Bento box pre-order meal. I know that C passengers can also order this and my question is whether F meal is exactly the same as C. I would rather try something which is not available for C class.

That's a tough job. With the exception of a few items like caviar, lobster, Dom, all meal are served also in Y. I flew Europe - Thailand v.v. for many years in all classes and I can tell from my huge menu collection that you find Y-meals in F & C, especially breakfast.

Only the presentation is different. Y on ceramic, C on regular china and F on bone china.

I was shocked on my first flight in F when I was presented almost the same menu I got in C some weeks ago.
