- I checked with Bangkok Airways, while they have an earlier CNX-BKK flight arriving 85 minutes prior to the SQ flight, they would not interline baggage to SQ unless they are on the same ticket

- Because my originally booked TG123 was cancelled, TG was nice enough to re-schedule me to depart the evening before, so now I'm looking for a nice and cheap BKK hotel for the 13 hour transit. This is the second time I've asked them to update my booking via email without issues, a pleasure to communicate with them over e-mail
Pleased to hear of a good outcome, and that the THAI customer service was good.

I've really had no complaints in 30+ years of flying THAI (well, except that one time I burned a biz GUP2 BKK-SIN-BKK and one of the 2 last active 747-300, yep 747-300, was called into service the flight ). Was supposed to be a refurbed 744....

Edited to add:That was 13 Dec 2006 BKK-SIN-BKK in HS-TGD, delayed flight with a scrambled crew. Was doing a same day return....

I'm considering a BKK transit where I arrive from BLR on TG at 0555 and leave for NRT on NH at 0650. Separate tickets, no checked bags, business class, I can move fast. Is this feasible? At what times of day is transit security busy?

I wouldn't do it on separate tickets: BKK is a huge airport with potentially long ways. I've connected through BKK many times and a few times a 90min connection time was cutting it close - and I walk faster than most people... Even a short delay on inbound or a (frequent!) airfield position with bus transfer can wreck your connection.

+1. With 55 minutes, you are risking a lot.

in addition
- not sure whether you get boarding pass for second leg already in Bangalore; so you would need additional time at transit desk
- frequent delays of departures at Indian airports

you may ask TG-staff at BLR if they will check you in for NH to Tokyo.
As you don't have to pass through customs and immigrations but only by dedicated seperate channel though another immigrations (between arrival level 2 and departure level 4) you can make it. Make sure you contact the next available (TG? or better NH-transfer counter on level 2 (or 3, not sure) in order to have your boarding pass produced.

55 minutes is oodles of time. You can probably do it in 30 minutes.

But why would you take the NH flight (possibly uncomfortable recliner in J on a 787) when you could take the TG flight (very good flat bed J on a 380) 40 minutes later. That does not make any sense.

a bit confusing! in transit it is actually just a security check from arrival to departure level, but there is NO fast track, but there are always people, who jump the queue...

I have never seen any kind of a significant line. Normally it's just a couple of minutes...maybe 5 minutes 1 out of 50 times. At 6 in the morning, it's usually empty.

I go through at 10pm a couple of times a month. Never see a line. Are you going through at ABC or EFG?

TG2589 10:20am to TG413 11:30am BKK OK?

Paid ticket on TG2589, arriving BKK from REP 10:20am.
Connection to award ticket TG413, BKK-SIN at 11:30am.

May have checked baggage.

Is this OK? TG2589 is a Thai Smiles flight. Both are international, so perhaps arrive and depart from same hall?

Thanks!
