Stuff to do near Fort Worth Amtrak?
Morning all,
interested in perhaps taking the Heartland Flyer to Fort Worth for a few hours. Is there anything interesting/worth doing/worth eating near the Amtrak station?
Thanks for any tips!

Walk over to the Fort Worth Water Gardens just south of the big convention center. No food there, but a nice place to spend some time on a hot day.
Plenty of food options downtown in the area of Sundance Square in all price ranges.

Try any of these suggestions
The Stockyard district is a great part of town, lots or beautifully restored buildings. Many places to shop and eat and you can hop a trolly or a bus to get to the area.

Maybe even consider lunch at Cattleman's. Zagat rated and reasonably priced.

If you're interested in art, from the station, take the T's Route 7 to the Museum District.
See Michelangelo's first known painting at the Kimball Art Museum. The Torment of St. Anthony is the first painting by Michelangelo to enter an American collection. Free admission.

Or Warhol and lunch at the Modern
From the Modern Art Museum of Ft. Worth's website:
Andy Warhol: The Last Decade is the first U.S. museum survey exhibition to explore the work that this seminal American artist produced during the final eight years of his life.
Great exhibit. Listen to the podcast of the Warhol lectures for a little perspective on Warhol and his art before you visit.

They have a great cafe at the Modern that by itself would be worth a visit.

What day of the week do you plan to visit? I can recommend a couple dozen good restaurants and a half dozen other diversions - but my recs might vary by day of the week. Short answer, there is PLENTY to occupy you for a few hours. The key is narrowing down the "what" and "when".
