how do I erase all of my private messages?

I'm sick of getting these 100 message warnings. I want them all gone. How?

Go to "Private Messages". This will bring you to your inbox. On the top line (blue), on the far right, it will say "Messages" and give the number you have in your inbox.

Next to it will be a white box. Check it and then go to the bottom of the page, where it says "Selected Messages", change the drop down box to "Delete" and click "Go".

Repeat for your "Sent" messages.

That just deletes the private messages on that screen though, not all of them.

True, but as there are 50 messages on the screen, all being deleted with one click, it should not take more than a few minutes to empty your mailbox.
