Coming back from Xmas holiday I was somewhat startled this morning to get a message from FT admin saying that someone tried to PM me but couldn't because my inbox was full.

I thought that rather strange given that 2,500 messages are allowed total (in/out) & much as I'd like to think I'm popular, I'm not that popular LOL.

So in logging on I discovered that the # of messages allowed (in/out) is now 500. When did it change?

Also, when I did a search to see if this had been mentioned previously, it said it only showed threads for the last week instead of the usual 10 days. When did that change, or was it at the same time?

Any reason for both?

FWIW - I have 144 messages in my 'inbox' - not sure what the actual 'in' limit is. Can someone advise?

hm, I thought it has always been 500 ? (but I might be wrong)

It used to be 500, but then it switched to 2,500 - now it seems it's back to 500.

Mine is still showing as:

You have 1,140 messages stored, of a total 2,500 allowed

Mine: a total 2,500 allowed.

The 2,500 limit was given to those who had "Flyertalk Premium" memberships IIRC, with the other limit applying to those without the premium accounts.

Sure your account hasn't lapsed?

BTW - count is of all messages in your PM folder - so Inbox/Sent/Drafts/whatever - not just the Inbox alone.

That's what it is. My account must have lapsed during the holiday (I was basically offline) because I'm seeing ads again. Didn't realize Premium also came with increased messages. Will re-up again.

Edited to add: Registered for InsideFlyer & I'm now back to 2,500 limit.
