I found it under "Quick Links", but the problem now is that when you click on it, FlyerTalk returns an error....

look a few posts below yours .

It's been taken off line to see if performance improves.

no permission?

Thank you, I tried the link from Quick Links, but "you do not have permission to access this page"

I've been away for several weeks and am very out of touch. I depend on New Posts for a scan of what's happening when I can't read all of my categories.

I feel very lonely and disconnected as well as not up to speed.

There's an Announcement at the top of every Forum which states:

Search Temporarily Disabled
We will be temporarily disabling the search feature on FlyerTalk to test some performance issues. We will have the search back on up by Monday Feb. 14th at the latest. Thank you for understanding this and sorry for the inconvenience.

I would have to then realize, when New Posts was missing, that disabiling search, disabled New Posts too. Obvious and yet not an immediate leap.

Are you aware that meanwhile Google does provide, one way or the other, this feature ? Example below.

Looking for Hilton awards

I guess performance will improve if people cannot search and look at "New Posts". When do we get them back?

thank you, pb9997

Sometimes we overlook the obvious. Google found my lost thread about good restaurants in Munich, I'm all happy now. Thanks for the reminder.

I agree. Without the "New Posts", I think it's extremely difficult to use the board (maybe I'm spoiled, I don't have the patience to click thru every individual forum and look at recent posts). I'm sure some of the performance gain was probably due to myself and others just not being on the board much / at all.

Count me as one who can't wait for the board to go back to the way it was.

We are leaving it off for right now in the interest of board performance.

Yes, we know the board is still intermittently slow, but not as bad as it was with search turned on.

Right now we are waiting for the php developers to release a new stable version of PHP which we believe will resolve most problems.

IMHO, that's insane!

Finding the right search on google, not being able to search for anything within the last week, not being able to search for today's posts, not being able to search easily for ones own posts, etc, all makes this board take ages longer to use. If the board takes a few 1/10s of a sec longer, we can do something else in the meantime. All the pain of searching via google or linearly or not at all takes real, human time, not just waiting time.

Secondly, we were told search would be back by Monday. I held off searching for things until then, only to find it still not back.
