In the uppermost, blue colored, menu ribbon, see the Quick Links option.

Click or press on that, select Edit Options and click or press on that.

Toward the bottom of the Edit Options page you will see the box for Date and Time Options, where you can adjust the time zone for your display.

Setting Local Time on Flyertalk.

Hi,
I know this will sound a bit of a dumb question to all you IT experts but;

When I am reading Flyertalk the time of posts is ? the US time even on my own posts.
Im in the UK so is there anyway I can change the time showing to UK time?

If there is you will have to tell me how to change it in simple terms!!!

Thanks

Click on MyFlyertalk, look for Settings / Edit options - and it's two thirds of the way down. Change you page view too, if you want more than 20 posts per page.

This is all very well when you are logged in but when you aren't can be a real PITA. So any chance we can upgrade the forum to detect where you are and give local times when you are not logged in?

I thought this was going to be about the amount of time spent on FT!

This is an issue for FT Tech Support, so we'll move the thread into there.

There is a bug with this however. I set my time to be in HKG and when I'm in HK it's correct. If I go to Thailand which is one hour behind HK, my iPad will adjust the time on the device to be correct. However then the time stamps are wrong in flyertalk. It doesn't show the time as per HK but puts the time to be one hour ahead of what it should be. Can this be corrected?

I'm guessing there's a clash between the instruction set from iOS and the FT time setting; IMO the easiest thing to do is to reset your local time zone in FT.

It appears to be device agnostic - the same problem happens on my laptop when I change the timezone.

I would think that FlyerTalk should fix the bug so that the right timestamp is shown regardless of the device's timezone. Or, have the time correctly adjust for the computer's timezone.

Question Similar problem, but...

I'm having the same issue as the OP. But contrary to helpful responses' advice, when I go into My Flyertalk I don't see any settings/edit option, so I can't change the FT time to my local time.. FWIW, I'm logged in. Am I missing something or has the system changed? Anyway, any further advice? Thanks.

It is still there under Edit Options. If you don't see it, try clearing your cache and turning off any ad blockers
