Posting a picture / image; how to add or embed an image or video in a post
HOW TO EMBED IMAGES: See tutorial information in posts 1 - 4.Not every Forum accepts the embedding of images; for those that do, please follow the FlyerTalk Rules. From the FlyerTalk Rules:
8. Posting of Images link to this rule.
You may embed non-animated images in your posts. Your images must conform to all FlyerTalk content rules, must convey relevant, on-topic information and are not allowed in signature lines or user profiles other than in the space designated in your profile for your picture. (See also, Rule 2 User Profiles.) Please size your images large enough to get your point across but not so that they distort FlyerTalk standard column widths.

If your image fails to load, the first thing to try is clearing your browsers cache.
NOTE: At this time, embedding animated images is not allowed (see this link to the FlyerTalk rule).
(Posts with embedded or attached videos, files or images made here as tests of how this works will routinely be deleted for systems efficiency.

Thumbnailing has been turned off - images should appear correct size where you place them instead of smaller thumbnails.
Auto-attachment functionality can be turned off via UserCP / MyFlyerTalk, in the options under : Auto Attach Links
Additionally - Advanced WYSIWYG Editor is now available, in the options select CKEditor under Message Editor Interface options (dropdown)

Only partially fixed at the moment. It you look within a post it is still taking your links and loading them as attachments (albeit at the correct resolution) rather than loading externally as previously done.
As suggested to me I would recommend you turn off "auto attach links" under miscellaneous settings here.
Not sure why they would want to load their servers with photos when they can rely on Flickr, smugmug, imgur or the like.
Thanks to the mods for helping me through this.

Because when Flickr changes their link structure, or a person forgets to pay GoDaddy the hosting fee for the blog they're linking from, those image links turn into 404 errors and FT looks like crap

Well said. Is there a middle ground where ft hosts, but it doesn't double post all of the images. First copy in text. Second copy all at bottom of message.

If it's still happening, can you post a link to where?
