Annoying advertisement [audio in adverts disturbing others]

I'm a supporter of advertisement in forums, it is an way to keep a good service free of charge for the users, but lately I'm really considering to add some type of ........ Several ads now has video embedded (ok, it doesn't bother me), but some has audio too - and it is very, very annoying, even more in a work environment.

These ads with audio are a kind of random, sometimes I spend several days in silence, but sometimes I got one every 5 or 10 minutes, and I don't want the hassle of needing to turn up / turn down the audio because of some annoying ads.

At home, sometimes I'm surprised with a loud ad because I didn't turned down the audio after watch some Youtube or listen some music. Worst, sometimes the audio ad shows up when I'm listening something else...

Is it possible to eliminate the ads with audio? Because if not, I might be obligated to eliminate all ads from my browser, depriving FT and other sites of this revenue source.

Thanks.

I had one ad today very persistently looping between a Givology.org static ad and 3 other Japanese language audio/video ads. I finally had to kill Flash Player to make it stop, it was on a constant loop. Could only capture 2 of the offending Japanese audio/video ads, can't get it to replicate again now. One was SKII and the other is H&S for Men.

Thank you for the screen shots! So helpful!

We'll get on this.

Auto-play audio is not permitted in FT ads. If you can post a screen shot, we can block them

Still doing it, got a constantly refreshing SKII ad under the Givology.org square box ad every time I'd refresh another page on Flyertalk today. I keep my favorite forums open in different tabs rather than browsing one by one for ease of updating, but this very aggressive ad seems to detect refreshing any Flyertalk page if its in the same tab or not. Just this thread was hosting two separate Givology.org square ads that has the flash content embedded underneath it. Very sneaky that one is.

So, Flashblock is now installed (Firefox user), I'm happy to let Flyertalk earn its revenue from the static ads presented, but those Flash ads are adding huge amounts to my running resources and slow the PC to a crawl, and the audio is extremely annoying.

How does one insert the screenshot?

The button above only allows me to add a web address.

You can host it at photobucket and post the link in. Or use your FT album

This is the one that is really annoying. - audio ad changes each time I refresh the page

Runs in a loop.

There is also one about hairspray or hair products in Japanese.

Same one giving me a headache. It's hidden behind that Givology.org ad... extremely annoying. Pretty crappy the actual advertiser is using a crowdfunding cover to hide their more annoying ads.

They're back. Experienced auto playing on my mobile while viewing the BA forum. Will try to replicate and flag the adverts involved.

Is audio starting on rollover permitted?
I have many adverts where this is happening
(e.g., Scholl, Disneyland, Philips, etc.)

On rollover, yes, it's ok.
