Can't type www.blah.com in a post without creating a link

I tried to type www.nameofattacksite.com within a post as an example of a link that should not be clicked on. But FT won't let me include text that looks like a URL without creating a -url- tag (square brackets not dashes). How do you delete a -url- tag in a post without having it automatically restored?

Put it between
Code:

www.horriblesite.org
[ code ] brackets.

Or, you can create the url and just put spaces between the www. andthelink. com.

or leave off the www.

nameofattacksite.com
donotclickthislink.com
clickhereforanastyvirus.com

etc...

another tip is to flank the url with noparse code

eg:
when you insert [noparse]www.horriblesite.com[/noparse], it appears thus,
www.horriblesite.com

I happen to like Prospero's suggestion, but yet another option, often used to disguise e-mail addresses so they won't be harvested by bots, is to write:

www [dot] name_of_site [dot] com
