new ads on page causing slowdown problems

new ads on page causing slowdown problems
this morning i noticed "moving ads" located at the top and bottom of my "my flyertalk" page and they are causing major slowdowns for me.
the top ad most often is a virgin atlantic seat map with a "moving hand" showing "where all the action is" in certain seats and the bottom moving ad is either a virgin atlantic or delta ad.
maybe it's me but my imac g5 is crawling like a snail with these ads
edited to add: the ads are showing on every page and really slowing things down
edited to add (redux): tweaked the settings on safari ....... and the issue is now gone but for those without an adblocker it might still be there
