Air China forum: The time has come.

Look at China's growth. Tons of demand over there. It's time FT recognizes this and Air China gets its own forum.

I mean talk about demand.. China has how many people, like 3 billion?

Demand by whom and for what? Answer: FTers for an Air China forum. That's your proposition. So ....

How, exactly is the population of China is relevant to the discussion of a FF forum on FT?

and uh, fyi ... some population data points for ya, ms:

1. World ..... 6,525,170,264 (July 2006 est.)
2 China ..... 1,313,973,713 (July 2006 est.)

Which is totally irrelevant to FlyerTalk. How many Companion members post on FT and how much discussion of Companion and/or CA exists that demonstrates a need for CA to have it's own forum vs. it's present home in Other Asian Airlines?

Nice exclamation. But it's not a proposition, therefore, not assessible as an argument.

Regardless, 1.31 billion is not/nicht/neyt/nada equal to 3 billion.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
JHC, you're conflating population of China with alleged demand on FT for a forum based on a FF program's growth?
Um, dude .... really. Get a grip.
Dude, if there was a forum they'd post! Obviously the reason they're not posting is that they have no place to post.
And how is this different than folks claiming that Alitalia deserves a forum for similar reasons?
Please cite examples where you've seen anyone claim Alitalia deserves a forum based upon the population of Italy.
That wasn't my point.
My point was that given no demand for Alitalia, why shouldn't population of the origin country be a factor? I mean look at the OP. It talks about the fleet of the airline, how big its program is, etc. All things that have *nothing* to do with demand here on FT.
And for the record, a search for Air China shows 500+ threads.. a helluva lot more than AZ is showing!
HUH???
1) I didn't make that point
2) There is no demand for an Alitalia forum on FT
-----------------------------------------
3) National population should be a factor for an FT forum
That's the syllogism you've proposed. The conclusion does not follow from the premises, therefore the augument is invalid (not to mention unsound).
1) There is no demand for an Alitalia forum.
2) Therefore, people will make all kinds of crazy statement to try to generate excitement (like, Alitalia has lots of airplanes).
3) Similar statements could just as well be about the population of a country.
4) China has lots of people. So Air China deserves a forum.
----
The logic is crap. But it is the logic of those that want an Alitalia forum. My point is, if we're going to use crap logic, why stop at Alitalia?
