TB is just a way to make beneficial use of surplus energy of unpaid volunteers. FT would be fine without TB, but TB has been helpful and, most importantly, Carol likes it. So there.

. TB serves a function & has absolutely nada to do w/ energy of unpaid volunteers. The 'unpaid volunteers' are the thousands of folk who post information to FT in the various forums. 'Nuf said.FWIW - the 3 branches of gov't aren't that relevant to TB in my mind. I'd go more w/ oliver's description
