Makes sense to me and, barring significant opposition, I support it as Copa is now its own program.

While I can't vote I do support the creation of this forum.

Cheers.

TalkBoard seems to be on a mission to prove that we are not always super-slow.

Given the complete lack of arguments against the proposal, I voted Yes.

I seriously doubt that's TB mission.

creation of Copa | ConnectMiles forum will pass

In accordance with the guidelines that means we'll announce if a motion has passed or failed once

enough yes or no votes have been recorded by TB members, this is the public notice that this motion

will pass as it has secured 6 yes votes.

Please note that not all TB members have voted yet, and so a final announcement with who voted

yes/no will not be posted until all 9 have voted or the voting period ends.

...

I assume this means TB members votes regardless of the 7 day site wide announcement? So much for the cool down effect the site wide announcement was suposed to have.

TB passed a 2-day timelag on voting from time of site wide announcement as recorded in this adopted motion but is not required to wait 7 full days as you assume. Proper procedures followed in this one.

The site wide announcement is to let FTers know TB is voting on something & hopefully encourage them to come to TB to post their thoughts. The voting period is for 2 weeks or when all TB members have voted. While this particular motion will pass, not all TB members have voted yet.

Also, a 48-hour timelag was implemented this past January between the start of the public announcement & before voting by TB members can begin on a motion.

Every single post in the discussion thread & this one by both FTers & TB members is supportive of the creation of the Copa forum.

Cheers.

I usually try to avoid voting quickly, and give things a week or so. This time it was a no-brainer, so I voted relatively quickly.

Other TB members have their own approach, some very fast and some very slow. Each of which comes with pros and cons. But all TB members abide by the rules which provide for:

Motion and second
Announcement
Wait 2 days
Voting opens

I wasn't aware of the 48 hour timelag rule, now I know. I think it is a little too short time to allow for serious input, but it is good it exists.

Knowing how much time and effort others and I put into getting a A3 forum, comparing it to how quickly and effortlessly the copa forum was decided upon, it is good to know that at least some airline fora is no brainers.
