Suggestion : Change name of the Emirates Airlines Skywards forum

There is a discussion that the forum name does not match the official name of the airline it represents, which is "Emirates airline" (sic).

Name changes can be handled by CD + forum Mod. as has been the case in other recent requests for forum name alterations:

In this case though, the forum mod has expressed a preference for harakiri rather than deal with the issue.

I was wondering if there had been any progress with discussing this proposal within TalkBoard? Thanks.

Can't speak for other TB members, but reading the thread you provided a link to, there doesn't seem to really be an agreement w/ what to change it to or even an overwhelming movement to change it at all for that matter.

Cheers.

It's perfectly fine the way it is...my preference is to leave it.

Fortunately this is not a matter of preference. It is a matter of the name accurately representing the forum's subject matter.

"Emirates Airlines" does not exist. "Emirates airline" does. The name should be changed accordingly to either "Emirates airline Skywards" (sic) or "Emirates Skywards" as per my posts on the other thread.

Emirates Skywards -- I'd vote for that if it ever comes to a vote.

Thank goodness. I wasn't exactly passionate about this one, to be completely honest.

Why? Were you unclear as to what Emirates Airlines Skywards was about? This has got to be the most pointless waste of time I have ever seen. But that's just my opinion...

I can't remember if it was Clinton or Bill Gates or both, but this reminded me of the what IS is debate.

I definitely wasn't passionate on whether there was an extra 's', and given the folk in the linked thread couldn't agree on what to call it & really didn't seem to think it was that big a deal/needed changing...but glad it's been sorted

Cheers.

No, I'm 100% with you. I was responding only because I felt it my duty to do so as a TB member. I fly mainly Delta and I couldn't care less if it's Delta Airlines or Delta Air Lines or just Delta.
