Motion Passed: Close Toronto Subforum
Moved by kokonutz and seconded by nsx:
"The TalkBoard recommends that the Toronto subforum be eliminated and the threads therein be placed in the Canada forum."
This vote will close on February 20, 2012 at 4:31 pm or after all TalkBoard members have registered their vote, whichever comes first.
Per the TalkBoard Guidelines:
A motion shall pass if at least two-thirds of the yes or no votes cast by TalkBoard members are ‘yes’ and a majority of the total TalkBoard membership votes 'yes.'
The purpose of posting voting topics in the public TalkBoard Topics forum is to solicit member feedback on any motions that are up for a vote and to allow for comments after a vote is made. It is at the sole discretion of the individual TalkBoard members whether they choose to post in the public discussion thread, there being no requirement to do so.
So while there is already a thread and discussion on this general topic and it is safe to assume that TalkBoard members have reviewed that thread, this thread is about this specific motion.
Please feel free to post questions, comments or any other sort of feedback in this thread, or in the other discussion thread http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/talkb...sub-forum.html

Seems sensible, given the absence of people defending it.

I do believe that it is critical that when a forum proves itself to be under-utilized it be rolled up.
In this case, there is a convenient recipient of the existing threads. Given the posting history, the Canada forum will serve Toronto as well if not better than its own forum.
IMHO.

I am aware of the process involved and didn't think it would happen overnight but was merely stating my support for it happening in due course.

As someone who has been posting travel assistance to YYZ on a regular basis in the last few year I am sure that merging Toronto into rest of Canada will not be any problem like the London info being part of the UK thread.

Quick! Someone! Post in opposition to this proposal! Give us some DRAMA to work with, here!!!
(This subject has been bounced around a few different FT forums for several days now and not a soul has made so much as a squeak of dissent. I'll give the membership a little while longer to, er, fully respond before casting my vote in stone, though. )
