330-300 or 200 to JFK?
I am getting confused. Just looked at the morning flight from ZRH to JFK and it seems Swiss are switching to the new plane on 25 October. Question 1: Is this information correct, in your view? Question 2: How likely is an equipment change (delay in aircraft delivery, changes in load factors, etc.)?
I would easily fork out the extra money to fly business in the new 330-300 but in the old one I'd stick to economy.

With only 3 aircrafts in service it is very difficult to speculate that far which flight to JFK will maintain the A 333 service. I am sure LX will keep changing the equipment on the JFK route so much in the next couple of months.
What does "Day 36" mean? The 36th day of this timetable's operation?
I'm flying LX15 on Dec 18, currently shown as an A333, just want to be sure it won't affect that flight!

"Day 36" means that the plane is scheduled for flights on Wednesday and Saturday. However, you missed the important praefix "x". When looking at the winter timetable by the link provided above, you can see that the A330-300 operation for NYC looks as follows:
Airbus A330-300 operates:
LX014 ZRH departure Daily
LX015 JFK departure Day x36
LX017 JFK departure Day 36
So your flight (LX15) leaves daily using the new aircarft except on Wednesday and Saturday. And as the Dec. 18th is a Friday, you should be fine.
I have just searched for A333 flights for the next 8 weeks and it was quite hard to find a pattern for the JFK-ZRH flights.
The things that seem to be consistent:
- ZRH-JFK-ZRH: all four flights LX14/16/15/17 will be operated by A333 on Sun/Mon from 06SEP09 through 19OCT09
- ZRH-JFK: LX14 is always operated by A333 until 22OCT09. After that, the A333 is sometimes on LX14, sometimes on LX16.
- JFK-ZRH: LX17 is operated by A333 on Mon/Wed/Fri/Sat/Sun. LX15 is operated by A333 on Mon/Sun. Tue/Thu vary, sometimes the A333 is on LX15, sometimes on LX17
An A343 is also operating ZRH-JFK-ZRH on the following LX 16/17 flights:
Thinking of booking LX 16 AND 17 in March 2009. Are these going to be the new F? I only want to book on the new F as I am live closer to Newark and could fly LH F instead. Are both JFK flights per day new F?

ZRH-ORD on 1 December
Just booked business class on ZRH-ORD on LX 8, which is currently showing as the 330-300. Will be happy if it doesn't change between now and then. Any recommendations for seats? (Seatguru doesn't have much insight yet) Their promotional materials say that some seats are a good bit wider than others in business. LX appears to block off most of the "singles" near the windows for their top elites (and won't release to *G). Any advice is appreciated.
