Seat Select Cost on - FCO-ZUR-PVG

I've got an FCO-ZRH-PVG-AKL flight soon, with the FCO-ZUR should the seat select on the FFO-ZUR sector be free? the call center is saying its 10euro/pp.

The website isn't letting me select seats, so having to go through the call center. Online it says that only Lite fares within Europe require the fee.

Even if we assume ZUR = ZRH and FFO = FCO I still don't understand the question. According to swiss.com:

Standard seats

European flights
The Standard Seat is already included in the Classic and Flex rates. With the Light fare, you can reserve it for a surcharge of CHF 12.00 per route.

Intercontinental flights
You can reserve a Standard Seat for a surcharge of CHF 29.00 per route.

Seats in the preferred zone

European flights
The Flex rate already includes a seat in your preferred zone. With the Light and Classic rates, you can reserve it for a surcharge of CHF 25.00 per route.

Intercontinental flights
You can reserve a seat in your preferred zone for a surcharge of CHF 49.00 per route.

Seats with extra legroom

You can reserve a seat with extra legroom for a surcharge of CHF 29.00 per route on European flights, and for CHF 99.00 per route on intercontinental flights.

If you are flying longhaul Economy (with no status) and want to reserve a seat you'll have to pay. For European flights it's dependent on the type of fare.

I'm not worried about an seat on the long-haul, I'm just trying to select an seat for the FCO-ZRH.

How do I find-out what fare product this leg is booked in?

When you select a fare, you can find an "i" at the top right. Just click on it, an it displays all details including booking class.

The problem being that the flight is already booked, as apart of an larger ticket.

It doesn't say what product the FCO-ZRH is, I'd think it would be Classic?

Economy class T means Eco Light. i.e. CHF12 to select a seat.
