Tru love ad photo -- a little too graphic?
I find this photo http://spe.atdmt.com/b/TUTRU1234TRU/...ng_Signup4.jpg
from one of the rotating Tru Love display ads somewhat distasteful. Also, I frequently have to access flyertalk in public areas, such as libraries, and I would be embarrased about having that ad on the screen if some busybody came by and looked at what I was surfing to. Can anything be done to avoid having that particular photograph be used by Tru Love in the future? Anyway, I really don't think that flyertalkers are really the target audience for that company anyway. It seems like FTers have no problems meeting each other without assistance.

and WHAT, exactly, is distasteful about the ad? Sure, it's a little racy/provocative, but isn't that what gets your attention in the first place?
PS - I think busybodies in libraries probably see a lot worse things in libraries every day, not to mention, they should be embarrassed for looking over your shoulder, not you!

Car wrecks get my attention too. That doesn't mean I want to be in one.

I shop at Best Buy... those Circuit City ads are offensive to me... can we get rid of them also?

I believe the drama of the portrayed vignette is being overlooked. The male has obviously been caught in the middle of his ablutions--the poor fellow has not even had time to put on a belt, much less a shirt. Suddenly, he must confront a short-waisted woman sporting an odd grimace. Pathos ahead, bathos behind. The composition is classical landscape, but the metaphor of the east is obscured by the "east-northeast," as it were. What is lacking in the depiction of the irretrievably mortal Mr. Sideburns is a pointer to the Old World, to time's arrow; in short, nothing other than the "Deer Isle smile."

If that's offensive ...
Better not go on Hotmail. They have dating ads on there all the time ... as racy as this and worse. And people frequently check their hotmail accounts at public libraries.

If you think I'm too uptight about suggestive ads, I learned it at my alma mater

The article has a cute cartoon that was done by the cartoonist at the BYU student newspaper, the Daily Universe.
PROVO — Managers of the student newspaper at Brigham Young University pulled an advertisement after numerous complaints that it was too offensive for the conservative campus.
The ad campaign began at the start of the month and sparked a big stir over a T-shirt with a simple phrase — "I Can't ... I'm Mormon."
Students, professors and administrators felt the slogan implied wearers wished they could drink, smoke or have casual sex but were prevented only because they are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
One letter to the editor in the student paper was particularly sarcastic: "I can't, I'm Mormon, but if I wasn't, you know I'd be there 'cause it sounds sweet!"
Many also felt the female modeling the shirt in the ad struck an overly provocative pose....

That dating site is a complete dud.
I signed up and they said my perfect match was someone called Camera Guy.
