expired canadian pp existing US via land

Hello. Plz need info. I am canadian citizen. Came to us in march n was going to leave on 14 april but i was denied to board as my pp has expried on 4 april 17. I didnt know until airline agent told me. I have two children with me, I am planning to go via land in private motor coming weekend. Have to cross broader throuh Nigara falls. Will i be able to leave us with expired pp. I dont want to stay here to renew my pp. Is there us border check?

You will likely get some extra questioning from the Canadian immigration officials. They will ultimately let you enter Canada.

I assume your children's passports are current...?
