Suggestion: Create MH / Malaysia Airlines forum [forum created]

This was last raised a bit more than 2 years ago. Would it make sense to re-look this now?

I feel as though BR should get their own forum now too. They seems to have more threads now.

Have the fundamentals changed? Has there been a huge increase in MH topics in the last 2 years?

On perception, yes. On statistics the mods/admins would need to check.

Glancing at the Other Asian Airlines forum, I see 7 MH threads in the last couple of days, going back another page I count a further 9 dating back to October 25th. Hardly seems like a massive increase in traffic.

I did a back of the envelope check and in the last month, there's been 25 threads related to MH that have had activity. I expect if it had its own forum, you would get more traffic and activity.

For comparison sake, within the last month, QF has had about 50 threads with activity and this is an airline with its own forum.

1. There are 21 threads on page 1 & 2 (going back to the 26th Oct)

Going back exactly 1 month up to the 3rd Oct I count a total of 34 threads.

Just looking from the top, that is on par with Aer Lingus, Aegean, Air Berlin (i stopped looking from then on).

2. (And since it was mentioned further up, EVA has in that same period ~21 threads).

3. Conversely, if creating more individual forum isn't a good way forward, why not look at replacing some and consider closing the individual fora of Copa, LATAM, Frontier and to a certain degree El Al and moving them to a regional forum. The first three mentioned have had only approx 10-20 threads in the past 30 days.

The posts made in November 2016 requesting creating a Malaysia Airlines forum have been moved here from the closed TalkBoard Topics forum at the request of gilbertaue, now the OP.

The original thread requesting TalkBoard establish an MH forum, which was active only in 2014 until these posts were added, is Suggestion: Let MH / Malaysia Airlines have its forum.

I was actually just thinking the other day or creating this suggestion here. As I stated upthread I agree with creating a MH forum.

Before the MH tragedies, I would have been easily in support of an MH forum. Those tragedies have certainly weakened the carrier. Is there still sufficient discussion specific to the carrier to make it beneficial to have its own forum?

I did give a summary on the 4th Nov upthread. There are certainly a number of airlines having their own forum which have less posts monthly than MH.

I'm looking for something I'm finding hard to articulate. Are there flyers who have a passion for MH who will create a community if a standalone forum is created? Does framing the question in that way make any sense?
