Also had, what I felt was a rude check in this weekend when was asked for Passport. Told agent that did not have a passport as UK resident. THen asked for driving licence. When I said that I did not carry driving licence the agent looked at my car keys and said , well did you not drive here then ??

My reply was that in the UK you did not have to carry your licence, but can you check me in plesae as I stay here often. ( Was on a pre paid rate and I could not see what the issue was as I have never been asked for I.D,) in the UK. A credit card is usually enough.)

DEcided after all this that I will be moving my Heathrow stays elsewhere.
I agree that the posting of Platinum amenity points is an issue at the Skyline, I have had several stays not post bizarrely however on my most recent stay I saw the guy who checked me in, staple the Plat choice card to my check in details so it looks like they should have posted.

I do think however this hotel offers exceptional value for money for Plats, the rooms are large clean and nicely decorated and the lounge is very pleasant all at the price of a provincial Holiday Inn. I am inclined to cut them some slack given that most things at the skyline work well on the whole, even though the staff do occassionaly leave something to be desired.

I agree, I've also been treated exceptionally well at this property. They didn't ask for my passport even with an American accent . They upgraded me to a club room and apologized for not having a suite available.

This property is truely a bargain as most London hotels are 200 pounds a night (and not even as nice as this sheraton!!)

Normally I avoid LHR and its airport hotels like the plague but had to fly out from there at 6.15 am last Sunday. Got an excellent internet deal at this hotel for the stay plus up to 8 days' parking and was very pleasantly surprised by the size, comfort and amenities of the room. Staff were helpful and very friendly even when I managed to lose my car parking ticket. The Hotel Hoppa at 4 GBP each way is rather expensive, though I don't know whether this has anything to do with the hotel.
