Just noticed also that Sig is no longer the GM here?/ I noticed the new fellows name apparently comes from running the Sheraton Tysons Corner.
I would be curious if anyone has any comments about that place as it might reflect on what we should expect here?
Nobody has any recent updates as to a stay at the Westin in Las Vegas - I am really curious as to how much things have changed and/or are going to change. As I said before, start charging the resort fee here and I am gone in a moment - That will just kill the value out of the location.

Bravada: I thought I addressed the few changes I noted at the property already... Also re: fee, seems to be the same -they tack it on the bill and then plats can get it waived at the front desk with a helpful cs agent. Feel free to pm me if there's anything else you want to know.

Are they still removing the resort fee or amenety fee whatever they call it for plats or not?
We checked in for a one-night stay during the Easter weekend. Location is easy to reach, one block from the Strip and beside the High Roller. The renovated lobby is impressive, as was the complimentary parking. Plat status recognition was excellent & the breakfast option is great value - for 2 adults, at $19.75 per person. We used the outdoor pool and Westin Workout (on the 2nd floor) and both were adequate. Our room on the 17th was renovated and had nice amenities. WIFI access was good and - overall - the Westin offers good value just off the Strip.
Is this a place that you have stayed at before or your first time as your post can be confusing......I stay here approximately 3 times a year and was there in November and will be back in a few weeks.
When you say the renovated Lobby - Is that something that was done in the last 4 months because it has been a few years since they updated it? and also the renovated room on the 17th floor - I had no idea that they recently renovated their rooms - they were not done in November nor did I see any action on the same.
Did the resort fee get waived based on your Plat status.

. . .
Somewhat of an ironic statement IMO. As a Platinum guest, the recognition would have been better if the breakfast had been complimentary or only a small upcharge from the complimentary Continental breakfast available as an option to Platinum guests.
The full buffet breakfast has always been complimentary here? Has this changed also........or was the post just saying how much the breakfast would have cost but it was free? I'm confused at what is happening at this hotel now with the recent management change. Can anyone provide an update that has stayed their very recently.
as of a few weeks ago breakfast is still free and the lobby was not renovated since the previous renovations a couple years ago. the rooms on the 17th floor also have not been renovated yet other then additional ... hope that helps.

No reno's
I stayed last week. No lobby or room renovations in at least the last 2 years. Plat benefits are worse since the removal of cocktails and snacks. I don't know about the breakfast as I take points for my plat amenity. They did not wave the resort fee.

Stayed here last month and can confirm platinums still get full buffet, but it was difficult to get the resort fee waived. The initial check-in guy said policy has changed under new management and that it is never waived. But I asked the day before checking out with another guy and he took it off. The equivalent of "HUCA" I guess...
Stayed here from April 7-10, was upgraded to a High Roller suite using SNA's 5 days prior to check-in. There was a "Spring" special going on so I was given both Free breakfast and Plat Points. Staff was very friendly and helpful and waived the resort fee with no issue. I have stayed at this property many times and have always have good stays, and will look forward to my next visit

Two recent stays (hotel hopping for stay credits) and both times I've convinced different front desk agents to remove the resort fee. I did however get the line of "new management, more strict, just this once, etc."
First stay, I was offered the choice of points or breakfast. (but still got the points despite choosing breakfast) Second stay I was offered both. I was also offered a suite upgrade (for the first time in 10+ stays here as Plat) although it wasn't ready yet at 1 p.m. I couldn't be bothered to wait since I barely spend time in my room while in Vegas, although I was curious to see what the suites are like here.
For some reason the front desk can't issue breakfast vouchers, so they are slid under the door later.

Read a report that the casino is going to be dumped, to be replaced by a new restaurant; and that rooms will "be renovated to Starwood standards". No dates given.
