How does this hotel compare to the Sheraton New Delhi Hotel?

LM is INR 10000 and the Sheraton INR 8512 for my dates.

Also, any experience about early check-ins? I arrive at 0330, will not be booking that night, what are my chances to get a room as Plat say around 8am?

I have stayed in both in the past year.

Sheraton New Delhi is better if you have business in Saket. It also has a large mall with restaurants within walking distance.

Le Meridien is in better physical shape and is in the midst of a large renovation. Rooms are more modern and the lounge is much larger. The Sheraton New Delhi lounge is a bit small. I was upgraded at both properties.

I don't count on ever getting into a room before 10AM unless I've book in advance or made a direct request to the property so I can't comment on whether you'll have luck with that. At this price difference I'd like take the Sheraton New Delhi.

Thanks for your comments, the Sheraton looks like the better deal then.

I have just one day in DEL, 0320 arrival and 0215 departure so I'm not really sure which night I should book. I'll have to email them if they would grant a very late check out if I booked the previous night and checked in at around 5am.

Yeah, I would make clear to them that you need the room from 5:30AM to 11:30PM and ask if they could possibly charge you for just a single day. The Westin in BKK has been willing to do this for me so long as they aren't too full. The rate that you are finding tells me that they are not all that full.

Club Room

A Royal Club room is only INR 250 more than a Superior Room - anyone with experience know if there is a difference worth an extra 250 for 4 nights? I'm just a SPG Gold ...

Any differences like lounge access or breakfast? If so, the INR250 is a bargain.

Just an update to my earlier posts: The LM offered me a rate of INR 6000++ for 6am to 11pm which I think is great.

Thanks for the update.

That is indeed a GREAT rate for that period! Did you email or call them?

Did you get stay credit?

Access to the lounge?

Plat amenity?

What did the luxury tax come to?

Just some quick notes from my 4 day stay:
  • The rennovation looks very far along, the new lobby and first level look amazing.
  • I had a superior room - well furnished and very comfortable room. No complaints about it. We had a view of india gate, but not that useful in Dec Jan because of the fog
  • Service was fine - not amazing, but not disaapointing either.
  • I would recommend folks skip the Lounge breakfast for the one in the main lobby unless you want to get in and out and want privacy. The selection and turnover of food is limited in the lounge.

Emailed, PM me for the reservations guy's e-mail address if you want it. The general email on the website flat out refused any such stay.

I haven't stayed yet, the trip isn't till May.

I stayed at this property 2 nights this week. The renovation of the cafe is completed. The cafe looks quite nice but it was very crowded during breakfast.

Also, the bathroom amenities now include the BVLGARI Eau Parfumee au the vert line. Specifically 75 ml (TSA approved! ) bottles of Bath and Shower Gel, Shampoo, Hair Conditioner and Body Lotion

Just wondering.....Did you get an upgrade? What was the Platinum amenity?

Thanks!

Any recent experiences? I am booked for week after next.

Being told by some locals the place is a "dump" and the rennovations are very annoying. Yet I don't really get that sense from the posts here.

We have a rate of 8000 INR for three nights so I'd like to keep it unless somebody tells me it's just awful. Thanks!

Cheers,

That's decent for DEL - but I have no idea of current rates...

Does that include taxes as well?

Nope, taxes and service extra.
