I'm enjoying a Jacuzzi suite right now.

Nice Plat upgrade, excellent service, free breakfast, etc.

The hotel is just a couple blocks from the football stadium and there was a Champions League match last night. The Rangers are in town and they stayed here at the Westin too. The hotel was packed and the entire area was extremely alive. I'm kinda surprised I got such a nice upgrade. Right next to the Royal Suite. And today there is a movie being filmed in the courtyard. Busy place!

If football fans want to enjoy a rare experience, book a room here for the night of a big match.

Small trip report, for 3-night stay

Overall: great property & service, no-brainer that I would be back here next time in Valencia

Key positive:
- Plat recognition (OK, didn't get the jacuzzi room, but very nice upgrade from cheap rate nonetheless - very large corner room, defined as junior suite, and great layout as far as I'm concerned). Silly maybe, but actually FIRST time in over 7y Plat that offered late check-out spontaneously during check-in (and couldn't use it this time due to flight, but anyways)
- Staff - extremely friendly & helpful, and always someone available (to the point where I'd almost say they are a bit over-staffed ... not complaining there however !)
- Breakfast comped as Plat (only had it once, some heavy nights resulted in not even meeting 11am)
- Only had food at the bar/resto, not the full/formal restaurant, but quick, friendly service & good quality

Key 'negative' (read: nitty-picking :-))
- number of soap bars ... got by as was alone in the end, but from original 2-person booking would have been a bit meagre
- not so much for myself as very easy breakfast person (some basics and I'm happy), but overall choice at breakfast was a bit less than I would have thought for hotel this level. Compensated by Nespresso, a couple of really special offerings (not sure what I ate, but it tasted great), and again extremely good service/staff :-)

Other notes:
- referring to other posters, location is maybe a bit a-typical (just outside the centre), but suited me fine - Valencia is great city for just walking around anyways
- ... and now hoping that they counter my latest experiences with Spain hotels re points posting difficulties ;-)

Very enjoyable stay

My wife and I stayed at this hotel following 4 nights in Barcelona. We are 2 for 2 on hotels as we could not have been happier with this property.
We booked a work-out room (never again) and decided that we would rather face the beautiful courtyard. The front desk accommodated this request and were able to juggle some rooms when we decided to extend our stay, allowing us to remain in the same room.
Valencia is a great walking city and the hotel is 8-10 minutes from the main shopping district.
As other have noted, the hotel is quite close to the football stadium and we were able to take in a game. It took less than 15 minutes to get from our seats at the Mestalla to a seat at the bar.
We did not eat in the hotel but did enjoy cocktails every evening. Service in the bar was great and court-year is a great place to enjoy a drink.
I have a very limited spanish vocabulary and all the staff was able to effectively communicate in english.
It is an excellent property and I would visit again.

The Westin Valencia

Took an overnight trip from the W BCN to Valencia. It took about 3.5 hours of driving at 160 Km/h. The property was very attentive with the front desk agent, concierge and duty manager all greeting us at check in and providing us with an itinerary for our day in Valencia.

They upgraded us to an Executive Suite, and the cocktails in the courtyard bar were exceptional. The only negatives were we had to alert reception to valet park our car, and the pool closed at 8PM.

The concierge recommended a fabulous, family run restaurant which uses 13 year old rice in the Paellea. The food was to die for!

You don't happen to remember the name of the restaurant, do you? Will be in Valencia for a day trip sounds like this place is worth a try.

(Sorry for going OT)

Can't remember how much the parking was.

Breakfast is free for Plats if you pick it as your amenity.

The restaurant is here http://racodelturia.com/inicio.php

Stayed at this hotel in April 2012.
With Gold status my husband and I got bumbed to an amazing 2 room suite. This is a very nice hotel with nice amenities.

We experienced a sewage smell that is common to valencia and had to be moved to sleep in a different room in the middle of the night on our second night. This was not the hotels fault and they were very accomadating.

Really?! That sounds horrible. Is it only during certain time of the year?
