I'm debating a classic room on C&P (6k SPG points + $110 USD per night) vs junior suite (15k SPG points per night) at the Bristol or a deluxe room at LM on C&P (6k SPG points + $110 USD per night). Not sure the jr suite is worth the extra points at this property. Curious to hear what others think.

I staid in a penthouse junior suite at the Bristol recently, and was a bit underwhelmed. It is as described on the website - 45 m˛ (i.e., basically a large room, no separation of sitting area/bedroom, sitting area consists basically of one ottoman). There is a small balcony with two chairs. Some have a view of the opera house which I am sure is nice, mine hadn't. Decor is old world viennese - depends on your preferences if you like that or the more contemporary style of the Le Meridien. The room was getting a bit tired (e.g., the carpet). What I didn't find practical was that the bathroom was split in two, with the toilet located to the right of the balcony, and the shower to the left.
Overall, I would prefer the Le Meridien. Location is very similar, service is fine, and the hotel is in better condition. If old style grand hotels are your thing, go for the Imperial or the Sacher.

I have a C&P reservation for March 20-24 and even though every category of room is available for sale, it's not offering any Suite Night Award options. I called SPG and they confirmed that the property participates in SNAs and couldn't come up with any explanation as to why they wouldn't be showing as available.
Lurkers, is this something you could look into? It seems highly unusual that a property showing wide availability nine months out in shoulder season wouldn't have any SNAs options available.

At least some of the base level rooms have separate shower stalls and bath tubs, so I would expect the same for suites.

You do get an interesting layout though, the bathroom is actually split into two - one with the bath/shower and the other one with just the toilet seat.

Now of course, the renovated rooms aren't guaranteed, but they seem to have blocked me into it as an SPG Gold since they couldn't upgrade me due to the hotel being fully booked. They don't really advertise the fact that there are a few renovated classic rooms (most news about renovations is focused on the top-level suites) so if you request it in advance, you probably have a good shot of being blocked into one.

I'm not sure what type of room we had, perhaps it was a jr. penthouse, but it actually had two bathrooms one on one end of the room and one on the other end, and it had a small balcony. This room was in the back of the hotel and from the balcony you could look left and watch the outdoor screen, and hear the music, from the Staatsoper. This was last year in April.

I just checked in to the Hotel Bristol in a Classic room on cash/points and they put me in one of the newly renovated rooms on the mezzanine floor. I have to say it's beautiful. I stayed at the Hotel Imperial the last time I was in Vienna, and this room in terms of style and finishes blows it out of the water. No view, and a little small (but very well laid out), but I think I'd rather have this room than a non-renovated room with an Opera House view or an unrenovated Junior Suite.

This sounds like the room I had at the beginning of the summer. It looked over the back street (toward the historic center of the city but no real view) which is partly covered in glass. I think my room number was something like 39. I was to the right and IIRC down s few stairs from the front elevators across from the coat check area across the entrance hall from the concierge desk.
