Complimentary Platinum Suite upgrade statistics, anyone?

It's way early for NYE, but I don't have any end-of-year bookings with SPG anymore.

I wanted to start a thread to see how everyone else is doing with suite upgrades. What I did was write a spreadsheet with property, length of stay, booked room, received room.

NB: I did not use (or even request) a single SNA this year.

Details
Stays: 35
Median length of stay: 1nt
Unique properties: 24
Areas I stayed in: Europe, South-East Asia, Middle-East
Suite upgrades: 17
Suite upgrade %: 49

Complimentary suite upgrades for me this year was at an all time low without usage of the SNAs, of my 28 nights in Japan I only received 4 night upgrades (1 at Westin Tokyo,1 at Sheraton Hiroshima, 1 at Westin Kyoto). For Thailand, I got complimentary upgrades for Le Meridien Chiangmai for 3 nights. No upgrades thus far for the other 20 nights. Still have another 14 nights coming next week so will see how it will go.

97 nights ~40 stays - all US

I think I got upgraded twice only on single night stays (+5 nights SNA)

so ~ 2% success rate

So far this year:
14 stays
42 nights
1-10 nights per stay
Suite upgrades 12 stays / 36 nights ~ 86%

21 nights on 4 stays to go this year, and majority of these nights have SNAs attached. Fingers crossed

As 90%+ of my stays were at the same location, with almost nada in terms of suites, I'm at 1 for 40 or so - my first non-SNA upgrade, iirc, was in Bangalore this week (after an SNA didn't clear).

Stays: 50
Median length of stay: 3
Unique properties: 6
Areas I stayed in: Mostly Harrisburg, PA, with 1 each in 5 other locations
Suite upgrades - incl SNA: 4
Suite upgrades - w/o SNA: 1
Suite upgrade %: 2

Except one stay ( Sheraton Firenze ) all the time upgraded to a suite this year so far. One time used 2 SNAs to make an upgrade sure.
Burned 8 SNAs for upgrades at a hotel where I would be upgraded anyway, just for using them...
Another 9 SNAs are used for two upcoming stays at the end of the year and at least 1 SNA will expire or 5 or 6 or 10. Who knows...

So my ratio is near 95 %.

so far 49 nights out of 81 were in suites. 96% of my stays were in North America. so my suite upgrade success rate so far is 60%. this is much lower than what it used to be in the past few years ( about 90%). I believe this is because most of my travel this year was to North America while in previous years I had more stays in Europe, Asia and Middle East. I have more than 20 nights booked with Starwood before year end so will see if my success rate goes up or down by year end.

Overall suite upgrade success rate was 70% in 2013 and was Plat Ambassador. Majority of stays/nights outside US

US only upgrade rate was 0% (but only included 3 stays).

Cheers,

WOW, 13 other posts and no one comes close to 100%

Mine is ~25%suites, ~20% club floor. Mostly US/Can/Europe

Hohummm...next year I think it is back to Marriott (80%) Hyatt (20%) and dropping SPG again.
