hotel policy
It does seem like a good idea for SPG corp. Marginal cost of providing platinums with breakfast is fairly low.

Just did a dummy booking for a possible award stay at this location. The standard 2 dbls room comes up as the same amount of points as the king suite. Is this a glitch? I took it all the way to the confirmation screen and I can see the language about award stays "Starpoint rates listed and no blackout dates are for standard rooms only (as defined by each property). Upgraded rooms, including upgrades based on size, view, services, suites, are available at a higher Starpoint cost, as determined by each property, and must be booked through your local customer contact center. " We would be happier with the suite of course but that availability for the same points as the standard room seems to be a contradiction of the stated terms.
If the suite is not available at that cost, we prefer the 2 beds so I wouldn't want to book the king suite and end up with a standard king room as the default. Thoughts?
Also, how does this hotel compare to the Hyatt or Radisson FW if anyone has been to both/all 3?

Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf Storm Damage 12/13/14
The Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf suffered water damage that knocked out their power. The hotel is dark and power may not be restored until sometime Sunday. If you have Sunday reservations you may want to check with the hotel.

Two one night stays in the last week - was offered points OR breakfast so I guess they stopped giving out both.
On my first ever stay I didn't get an upgrade but received a bottle of wine and a nicely presented box containing crackers, cheese, olives & nuts. It was way too much for one person so I still have a few blocks of cheese in case anyone wants them
On my second stay I was upgraded to a nicer room, but quite noisy.

Thanks for the good news, William.
If you have any insight on interim arrangements (early Sept stay) that would be helpful. If not, I'll just have to find out and post here afterwards.

The last time I was there, they just put out food in a wide spot of the hallway. At least it was away from the elevators so not constant traffic. No hot food from what I recall. But you are so close to many great places to eat, lounge food can never compete!

If the club lounge is not operating by then, then I would expect it to be covered like it is at every other hotel that isn't a Sheraton and does not have a lounge: Choose the Continental breakfast option at check-in instead of 500 Starpoints.

There has been a delay in when the Club Lounge will open at this property. At this point in time, it looks more like April before that will happen.

Stayed here a couple of nights ago and asked about the lounge. Check-in and check-out personnel had no idea of a lounge, or even one being on the horizon. Also, the room I was given on the SPG floor was awful. Faced the street and noise, noise, noise. Personally, I prefer the rooms that face the interior courtyard.
