It was waived two weeks ago for both rooms. Breakfast coupons for two persons per room and 500 points as amenity.

The property has a relatively new GM and their outlook on elites has completely changed. In Dec, I had to fight just to get the actual room I booked. They claimed they were sold out but at least 4 room types were available for sale.

On my last two stays, late check out was denied. The full list of excuses you've seen on FT over the years was used and every staff member contradicted the one previous. I was even told there's no manager on duty and 2 different front line staff claimed to be managers when they weren't. Amazingly, after a call to my Ambassador, the GM showed her face. Then I had to play the negotiation game hour by hour to get a late check out. At one point the GM even claimed their property was exempt from ever granting late check outs.

The property is ok. The location is good (especially if you know the back roads onto Disney property) but stays will be disappointing until there's new management.

Lovely, hate going into a pissing match. I see the new GM is Cindy Staley!

This property is on the Lurkers List of properties that are exempt from Late Check out. FAQ: 4 PM Late Check-Out: A benefit for Platinum, Gold & Preferred Plus

This time the property/GM was correct.

Or better customer understanding of the late check out benefit...

Stayin here now, we use to do stay cation here when we use to live in Orlando.

A few notes.

-checked in late but every room category was for sale and the price had dropped twice in the same day. Anyway...

-resort fee and parking waived
-vouchers said continental, but they told us to help ourselves to the whole buffet!
-despite all rooms categories available, was given a room over looking a dumpster! ...!

I was so tired I did not care but was perturbed, have always been upgraded to pool view even as gold years ago!

Same exact experience as Travis this past weekend. As a Platinum SPG they put us overlooking the dumpster. The road noise was so extreme and the AC unit so loud, that I asked to change rooms after the first night. I would seriously not stay here again until the AC units have been swapped out. They turn off and on during the night and when they turn back on, it sounds like a 18 wheeler is turning over in your room.

I do want to say that every member of the staff were hard working and extremely nice. Every interaction I had with any employee was a good one.

My experience as well, albeit nearly 3 years ago.

Also looking for updates; looking at a return visit in April.

Cheers,

I see the hotel's website is advertising a change to 3,000 SPG pts from 7,000 after March 7th. I suppose that means I must wait until March 7th to make the reservation (beginning 3/12) because it still shows 7,000 required as of today.

Thanks William - I tried calling reservations and spent most of 15 mins on hold and still didn't get an answer. You are a much quicker source of answers.

One or two more questions - at the 3,000 pt rate, can I upgrade from an available King room to a family suite for extra $ or pts?

And do you know if they charge for self-parking in addition to the resort fee?

As of today they do offer Specialty and Specialty Select awards using Starpoints, subject to availability. There are no Suite awards at this hotel.

At this moment in time, Specialty = Pool-view rooms and Specialty Select = Family Rooms (some with bunkbeds).

We'll have to see after March 7th whether they will continue offering upgraded award rooms, but it is pretty rare for them to not do so if they already are.

According to our records, the hotel charges for self-parking in addition to the resort charge. Self-parking runs $15/day with In/Out privileges. Valet parking is $20/day with In/Out privileges.

The resort charge includes scheduled transportation to all the Walt Disney World® theme parks, 24 hour access to the Sheraton Fitness Center, in-room Wi-Fi, 10% discount of spa services and products at the Top of the Palm Spa, scheduled transportation to Lake Buena Vista Factory Store shopping, and two bottles of water replenished daily.

I hope this helps.
