Stayed there earlier this week. In the lounge, there's now a flat screen TV on the wall above where the evening food is/would be, and thankfully, it wasn't blasting loudly the one show.

Looking around the whole downstairs lobby, restaurant, reception area, it's a massive improvement to what was there years ago. Hopefully room renovations will be as well.

Does anyone have any experience ordering an Uber from the Sheraton Heathrow to T5 at 8:30AM on a Tuesday (albeit Dec 30th) vs 2 ppl in the hotel hopper at 8:41am?

Which would you take?

Checked in at 11pm on GBP59 Hot Escapes rate.

As Plat w guest was recognized at check-in and given a king sized room on the Club Floor. No UG discussion...didn't ask, didn't get (although Club King is technically an UG). Nothing special abt the room...feels used/abused.

1) Biggest complaint about this hotel is that the outdated HVAC system is seasonal: heat in the winter and AC in the summer. So don't as for AC in the winter, no matter what the temp. I prefer to sleep in a cold room, so this is a show stopper for me.

2) Ordered 2 extra feather pillows and received firm polyfill pillows.

3) Mattress feels old/worn.

When I was there the hotel was able to call mini-cabs, at competitive rates. It was certainly better than the Hoppa for two people. I don't know about Uber.

I stayed at Sheraton Heathrow for 1 night last month.

Checked in at 10pm, checked out at 6am.

No offer of a welcome gift or upgrade at check in. They assumed I'd take the 250 Starpoints. I know.. I probably should have raised this but given I was there for a few hours I wasn't too fussed.

Corridor and room were dark and dingy. Front office staff friendly.

I was going to take an Uber (I checked out at 6am) as there were plenty available. However, then the hoppa bus appeared so I got on.

I had a few bags so it was a little struggle since I was travelling solo, but it's only a few mins journey so didn't bother me too much.

If you have a few bags then I'd advise taxi or Uber. If not, bus is fine.

If you don't have too many bags and don't mind a short walk, you can take one of the free "local" buses from down the road (near where there is the big Chinese restaurant). I've taken it as early as 6 am (in the dark) and it wasn't crowded and possibly faster since no stops at other hotels.

Used Uber from here many times into London and Heathrow terminals without any issues.

Free busses to T5 are located directly across the main road (350) and behind the premier inn (423).

It is £59 what do you expect the Four Seasons?

A club room is an upgrade and the highest formal upgrade category available. The 3 suites are not available for sale online and are not select standard suites.

There is no AC at this property, it isn't seasonal it is non existent you effectively have a fan which can be heated.

Agree the beds are not great here, I always have a poor night sleep.

Good luck with uber local to Heathrow. Most drivers are completely unwilling to take you short distances and will mess you about endlessly before cancelling. Use a decent local cab firm like Parkers.

Am I going mad?

I was offered a £30 club room upgrade for my Hot Escapes booking. I wasn't going to bother until I read the last line of the offer which included extra SPG points.

However, these points have not been forthcoming. When I've questioned them, I am told that they are not part of the offer (other than extra points on the £30 spend).

Since the only part of the upgrade we used was 1 breakfast, I feel hard done by. The room was the same shape and size as the ones I've stayed in before at the property.

If you like, you can send us the offer you received along with your SPG account number to the email address below and we'll be glad to take a look at it.

Thanks. Now I just need for someone who has gone for it and is missing the 500 Starpoints to contact me with their account information so I can follow up on it.

Much of the front of the hotel is now under scaffolding, so it looks like the renovations are continuing apace.

Incidentally, the lounge hot food selection earlier this week included deep fried haggis balls, a rare, difficult to farm epicurean delicacy seldom found in hotels of this class. ^

They are rather an acquired taste though ....
