Seclusion Day Information: March 9, 2016

Nyepi, known as the “Day of Silence,” marks the celebration of the Balinese New Year in the Hindu Lunar calendar. A spectacular procedure of ceremonies, parades of great bamboo monsters, and fireworks occur on the Eve of Nyepi, followed by a day of total silence and seclusion. The community strongly believes that if the island is silent and dark, the bad spirits will leave and the new year will start in peace. During Nyepi, from 6am until 6am the next day, the island stops. Nobody is allowed in the streets, lights are turned off, and the international airport is closed.

Nyepi will fall on Wednesday, March 9, in 2016. Please note that check-in and checkout will not be possible on Nyepi Day, and Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) will be closed. Some of the resort facilities will operate as usual; however, there will be no transportation services to and from the resort. All television channels will be switched to in-house movies due to broadcast silence. Lights will be dimmed inside and there will be no outdoor lighting. Our pools, garden areas, and some restaurants will still be accessible, except for the beach.

We kindly invite you to respect this sacred day and observe these restrictions. Normal activity in Bali will resume at 6am on Thursday, March 10, in 2016.

Hamabe Japanese Restaurant Closed: August 31 - December 1

From August 31 to December 1, 2015, Hamabe Japanese Restaurant is closed for refurbishment. During this time, guests are able to enjoy a selection of Japanese cuisine from both in-room dining as well as our Japanese Flair Theme Dinner at the beachfront garden on Monday and Friday nights. Please contact the resort for further information.

When would "extreme high season" be exactly?

Thinking of booking here for a 4 night stay with my kids over Christmas. Would a Family Suite or a Two-Bedroom Ocean View Suite be preferable? I have read reviews that there's no window for the living room of the Family Suite and hence it can quite dark.

Thanks!

Just off after a great stay there. Breakfast has been updated with a number of healthier Westin Style options. And the afternoon tea menu has also been updated a bit. Restaurants were empty for dinnertime, a tribute more to the excellent restaurants available outside. Inexplicably, resorts on either side of the Westin had a better beach vibe, while Westin was less crowded overall. Gym is very good and so is the pool.

St. Regis nearby for the sunday brunch... an experience.

Overall a great property with excellent plat recognition. Will most probably be my default Bali hotel.

Do they have a Club lounge at the moment and are there a cocktail hour and breakfast being offered?

I do 2 stay, not very recently (November 2017 and last one in July 2018).
Very good breakfast plenty of choice for everybody, nice afternoon tea with sandwich and delicatessen, upgraded both time to suite, will be back again.

Nice main pool big sized and separate kids pool (w slider) and some shadow, there also a kid's club (but did not check it).

I just finished a 5 night stay 4 days ago.

My points and stay still not posted to my account. Anyone have an e-mail address for them?

Hotel was evidently 95% full, no suite upgrade, but got a premium room in the new wing. It was a nice room.

That said, I did check out after 5 days, moved to the Conrad, where I got a nice upgrade, and enjoying the lounge. Hilton gets it. We travel for business, and spend our points or free time in places like Bali and that's when we really enjoy the status. Great lounge, great afternoon tea, great upgrade....

Meanwhile, still waiting for stay to post to my account. Not happy.

My experience is, is shows up in 2-3 days or not at all unless you file a missing stay request.... so now wait 5 more days, and file the missing stay.

US stays have showed up in a few days, but International stays seem to take more time. I just got back from Surabaya and Bali and my points didn't shop up in the app until 7 - 10 days after check-out.
