Q. How does one qualify for "Preferred Plus" benefits?
A. By being the primary cardmember for a Starwood American Express card, or by becoming a member of AARP, AAA, or other marketing partner providing complimentary Preferred Plus status. (See, e.g., http://discounts.aarp.org/offer/inde...CategoryId/402)
Q. What are the published incremental benefits of Preferred Plus (i.e., beyond base SPG member benefits)?
A. The incremental benefits are
Q. Where can I find these benefits stated on the SPG website?
A. They can be viewed here: https://www.starwoodhotels.com/prefe...ybenefits.html -- Note: If you are not already logged in, you'll be sent to a login page. Once logged in, ignore where you are redirected to, and click the original link again to view your benefits.
Q. Where can I find a list of "resort and conference center hotels" on the SPG website?
A. You can't; it isn't there. However, one of the Starwood representatives has posted (and regularly updates) a list at http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/18920557-post809.html.

So not sure if I just did it wrong originally, or something changed, but the link in the wiki does work now. If you are not logged in, when you click the link you'll need to log in. Once logged in, ignore where you were re-directed to, and click the original link once again.

So Starwood Preferred Plus matched through to Marriott Silver. Marriott advised me that I was moved up to Silver when I merged my accounts. However I checked in at a Marriott last week and I had gone back from Silver to basic member. No indication why. I checked with SPG and they say there is no longer the Preferred Plus level (which I had earned through SPG Amex UK, so I have gone back to a Corporate Preferred level which gets same privileges, except Marriott see this as a downgrade to basic membership. The merger pages all say Plus still exists and matches to/from Silver. Something is broken at SPG and I hope the customer service depts of both schemes get it together ASAP.

The SPG Preferred Plus status still exists and if you are one, you should get Silver status with Marriott.
Can you PM or email us your SPG details so we can have your account reviewed further?
Thanks in advance.

When I log in, I see that I'm still listed as Preferred Plus, but the SPG web site no longer lists benefits for Plus. Just Preferred, Gold, Platinum.
I know there wasn't a lot for Plus, there used to be a few trinkets. Gone now??

Sadly, in my recent three stays at a Starwood hotel (not resort), I was given neither an 'enhanced' room, nor allowed a 4pm checkout.
No, they are still noted here on the chart of member benefits.

You misunderstood the point of my post. I was alluding to the fact that Preferred Plus is basically worthless, since the only two benefits of it are something I'm never getting.

Is this hotel a conference/convention center property? If not, send us your last confirmation number to the email address below and we will get that fixed going forward.

In my many years as Preferred Plus, I've often gotten 4pm checkout and on occasion a better room. Thus, I dispute the claim that this status is "basically worthless."

It's good to hear someone has been able to enjoy the benefits of Plus. Perhaps I am in the minority. I can only speak to my experiences.
