Plat treatment?
Any recent stays from Plats here? Last time I stayed here was around 2012 and Club Lounge was pretty depressing. Didn't help that I came down with chicken pox during my stay (for business) and ended getting holed up in my room for 5 straight days!
On a side note, this is a very good property for BRGs and I have managed two successful claims over the coming months, including full breakfast. What is full breakfast like here?

Been there 2 weeks ago also on a great BRG rate. Excellent suite upgrade. Buuuut, breakfast is the weak point. Average quality at best (at least for non US properies). Huge crowds waiting at both lounge and BF restaurant for entry even at 10am, more than 30 guests. I never had anything close to this chaos. Given the size of the lounge not fun at all. After 4 days in a row showing the same picture I didn't care any longer.
The hotel was below 80% according to front desk on all days.
If you care about BF there might be room for disappointment. Otherwise with BRG+blue dollar+Plat upgrade you can't do wrong.

Having had 2 stays here in the past 2 months, I must say I have been pleasantly surprised. It had been about 4 years since my last stay, and at that time I would favour the Libertador over this property.
Rooms are still seriously outdated, but service has been much improved, staff now seemed much friendlier to me. Helpful concierge, bell boys, reception, gym and Club Lounge staff. Was upgraded to a suite both times, and our friends in the 2nd room on the reservation were granted Club Lounge access. I found the offering of breakfast and snacks was very nice, with the exception of no alcohol. They let us bring our own wine to the evening snacks if we purchased 1 glass of wine as a kind of "corkage" fee (90 pesos), which seemed fair.
MAGC is available, but it's a slightly odd system, where you have to tell at front desk, but I also hung the sign outside, which they remove from your door and do not return. They still make the bed, replace the towels and complimentary water, which is great, considering you still get the 500 points.
All in all, a great experience: with BRG 20% + blue dollar it's unbeatable value at U$72 incl tax.

That's a great deal,, including the one glass of wine corkage fee. You could order (chilled) white, followed by your own bottle of red, and nibble on white wine snacks first.

As a data point-- I stayed at the Sheraton Libertador in February and was upgraded to a bedroom, 1.5bath, living room, dining room, kitchen, sauna, jacuzzi, walk in shower suite for the full 5 days... for $120/night.
The lounge there sucked, but .... it, I had a library in my suite.

Used to be the other way around 3-4 years ago. You could get some decent nibbles at the Libertador and free wine. At this Sheraton, you needed to order soft drinks with the surly, 100 year-old waiter, and buffet snacks consisted of peanuts, and potato chips on a good day.

IIRC it used to have a lounge. In fact, there were reports of people from the Sheraton using that lounge while the one at the Sheraton was temporarily closed (for renovations?).

Just returned from a week at the Park Towers and there is no lounge. They do serve complimentary beer, wine & sparkling with a plate of assorted sandwiches and sweets from 6 - 8 pm in the lobby lounge. I was not offered a reason as to why there was no lounge (whether closed for renovations or otherwise).
