Hyatt Manila September 23. God this news is painful...would have wanted another year of having SPG status all to ourselves...Now we have those people using their points and newly minted status upgrading to suites at *W properties

At the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit. We came back to our room today to complimentary brownies and a letter announcing the closure of the merger.

Nice gesture, and I hope the merger will bring a great new loyalty program!

In the words of Pete Townsend, this has been playing in my head:

♫I had no reason to be over optimistic,
But somehow when you smiled
I could brave bad weather♫

I am "celebrating" at home, and staying in a Holiday Inn Express mańana.

Will "celebrate" at St. Regis Osaka and Kyoto Suiran.

Still cautiously optimistic that the merger won't destroy the best loyalty
program.

Unhappy

Weekend 23-25 Sep staycation at the Sofitel Sentosa. In true FT fashion, it's in response to a promo in this case the biannual points boost (traditionally 10k points bonus for 3-4 stays of min 2 nights each). Last push for Accor Plat renewal.

RIP Starwood and inevitably SPG... I hardly knew yall

Toasting the incredible experience that is/was SPG in Sheraton Towers SIN. To make sure I did it in style, I used an SNA to ensure an upgrade.

I just checked into Renaissance Indianapolis North tonight. Record still shows me as MR Gold. I showed my Marriott Plat status on my app.

No additional benefits over MR Gold. No upgrade, Lounge closed for the weekend.

Welcome to Marriott Rewards, no surprises.

I wonder what Marriott will do with SPG LTP. At least I have enough Marriott nights that SPG + MR nights and converted SPG + MR points will be enough for MR LTP.

Camped out at the Pritzker family compound. Not leaving until a Hyatt Courtesy Card is issued.

Have a dual stay in Chicago. Saturday/Sunday at Westin Riverfront and then 3 nights at Hotel Chicago.
