Delta Double Up Promotion
Question about this promotion (https://spgpromos.com/doubleup/) - Do you earn double miles for stays during the promotion period but before registration? Or only for stays after you register?
Just found out about this a few days ago and I have several earlier stays which would qualify for double miles except I wasn't registered at the time. I've been delta crossover registered for over a year FWIW.
I read the Ts&Cs, but the answer is not readily apparent (I'm leaning towards, all stays regardless of when registered based on the definitions in the Ts&Cs, but this question is not specifically addressed).

This is pretty clear, IMO.
Earning: Registered SPG Members will earn double miles on eligible stays of one or more night(s) between April 1 and June 30, 2016, at any SPG-participating Starwood hotel or resort. Members are eligible to earn Starpoints as they normally would for their eligible Starwood hotel and resort stays in addition to the two (2) Delta miles for each one (1) eligible dollar spent during an eligible stay of one or more nights during this Promotion Period. There is no limit on the number of bonus miles that can be earned during the Promotion Period. Unless specified, bonus miles earned through this promotion do not count toward elite-status qualification or elite status.
Why do you think points are retroactive?

I think you're reading too much into it.
I don't see any requirement to register first. Most Starwood promos work even if you register after the activity, as long as it's within the promotional period.

I think it's far from clear...
"Registered SPG Members will earn double miles on eligible stays of one or more night(s) between April 1 and June 30, 2016."
As soon as I register, I become a "Registered SPG Member[]" and thus eligible to earn double miles on stays between April 1 and June 30.
Further, the definition of "eligible stays" has no reference to being a "registered member" AT THE TIME of the stay...
"An eligible stay is defined as one or more night(s) in a participating Starwood hotel or resort in US or Canada (excluding Puerto Rico and US territories) paying an eligible rate and posting to the Member's Starwood Preferred Guest® account"

We asked SPG about this offer and were sent this in reply:
"The offer is retroactive from registration during the promotional period (4/1-6/30). For example, if a member registers on 5/24, and had a stay on 4/2-4/4, they get double miles for every $1 during that stay at a Starwood hotel in the US and Canada. Our offer excludes US Territories and the stay had to have been on Starpoint eligible rate plan."
I hope that helps.

Wow, thanks OP. Wasn't aware of this offer and only US/Cda stays I have are retroactive!
Nice to have a promo that doesn't require a 2 night stay.

So, if the double miles are still missing 6 weeks after a retroactive registration, we would be more than happy to follow up at that time.

is this an either / or with the SPG Triple Up? I hope not. I don't usually fly Delta but would be nice to get 2 miles per dollar + the triple from sheratons...

The T&C's say it can take as long as 6 weeks for the double miles to post after the qualifying stay is credited. However, in an instance where there has been a retroactive registration, you will have to count from the date of registration.
So, if the double miles are still missing 6 weeks after a retroactive registration, we would be more than happy to follow up at that time.
