*Gold, stayed here last week.
at checkin was told I was UG to high floor in World twr.
was given 1 free drink at monkey bar and 4pm checkout no prob
solid hotel. def young vibe, solid pool scene.
it's like the Westin LV on steroids IMO. Skewing a little younger obviously.
Resort fee of $30 is laughable but whatev.

Has anyone noticed that the rates have gone way up for the upcoming few months??
My fault for not booking earlier, but several dates that had rates for 55-65 a night are now showing 150-165 plus resort fees.
Sorry, SLS, but given the location and the non-existent shuttle, there's absolutely no way I'm going to pay almost $200 for a Monday / Tuesday in Vegas. The Bellagio can be had for that with an MLife rate... -_-

Resort fee
Stayed here 4/29-5/01 using points 12k each night. Nightly rate was $160 plus tax and resort fees...so thought points option was decent.
Checked out and was charged $67.20 resort fee and resort fee tax for 2 nights.
Called and they said that resort fee is charged for point stays as well, but they did take it off my bill as a courtesy.
YMMV.

So, there seems to be a discrepancy between what SPG.com calls a suite here and what the SLS property itself (even their website) claim are "suites."
Was wondering if we could possibly get some clarity on this just as a data point for the future.
It seems as though some of the employees here think that every room in the LUX tower is a "suite," while they're clearly not.
For example, the first "suite" (by name) that I see available in the Lux tower is 955 sq ft., while I was just told by the front desk that the 600-some odd sq ft room is a "suite," where it's really just a corner room.

This could be part of the SLS being new, or they're just trying to pull a fast one.

Curious about this place
I'm going to Vegas next week and booked Caesar's Palace for 3 nights, then planned on staying at a Starwood for the final night. I'm looking at the rates, which are a bit higher than my deal with Caesars, but with the promo going on, I'm curious about staying here. I'm Lifetime Plat, but still like to get my 50 nights in. I think I've already earned my 10 TR nights allowable as a SPG member.
Are these rooms nicer than Caesars? How is the casino? I'm seeing people mention suite upgrades which I love, but I'll either be staying the full 4 nights or just the last night. Is it far from the strip or ON the strip? Nicer than Caesars? It's intriguing, I'll admit!
ps- are there tubs in the rooms? I see showers but I'm a tub girl.

Never stayed at Caesar's.
IIRC, my suite had a shower, but no tub. I walked from SLS to Caesar's and it's about 4 kms.
I liked the casino. I made money at Black Jack tables. ^

Good news about winning- I'm hoping to do the same. I love my Blackjack! The tub thing has me worried. I have nerve damage in my leg and require a bath twice daily. I wonder if all rooms and suites are the same? Anyone get a tub?
I booked a Storybook room, but as a Lifetime Plat I'm hoping for an upgrade. I'll only be doing 2 nights so I guess I'll live either way. I'm shocked to hear how far it is from the Strip, though. I visit Vegas 4-8 times a year and have never been far from the big casinos. That said, after 2 nights at Caesars, I might not have much left to gamble!

I've never personally stayed at Caesars. I like the SLS casino, because it's often not as crowded. I don't personally like busy casinos, especially when I'm trying to play perfect blackjack and still have free drinks.
The key to the SLS is that the monorail is literally right at the hotel, so you can get to most places on the strip faster than say, the Signature, Mandalay. I personally take Uber from the airport to the MGM Grand, walk to the Starbucks near the food court, then on to the monorail, where I take that to the SLS. Since I'm already buying a day pass for the monorail ($12), I figure I might as well save a couple bucks on my Uber ride and grab a drink at Starbucks.
I haven't stayed in any rooms other than the Lux tower rooms (future W rooms), so I can't comment on the World or Story towers, but the Lux towers have great beds, great bathroom ammenities, etc. Also, the restaurants at the SLS are pretty great.
If you buy a monorail pass (assuming you're planning on walking) then the SLS in reality isn't THAT much further than some of the strip properties. It's not going to beat Caesars in location, but the trade off for SPG credit / benefits is worth it in my opinion.
P.S. It's worth noting too, that you should earn SPG nights / points for your stay at Caesars as well, that count toward your 50 nights.

If all you need to do is soak in hot water, wouldn't the hotel's Jacuzzi by the pool do the trick (assuming SLS has one, it wasn't pool weather when we were there)...but when you are Caesar's, be aware that they do NOT have an outdoor hot tub (they removed it when they built the Octavius Tower, and if you get a Forum Tower hotel room, they also have showers only.
Also check whether you would get SPG night's credits at Caesars...they are hooked up with Starwood, we get credit for meals spent since we usually don't pay for rooms, but I *think* you do get stay credit for staying there.

When I stayed there in March I waited the full 7 days of no posting before using the "report a missing stay" route. It was then I found out that there was a glitch that spg numbers were disappearing from reservations/stays, but it was sort of straightened out by spg but I had to involve William to get my bonus points credited correctly. Don't know if that glitch has been corrected, but if you don't see anything by next Tuesday I'd start the process.

I've had stays post the day after, and I've also had to call in / report missing stay credit.
Nothing is "unusual" with this property unfortunately. They're still ironing out some kinks.
