Can I move points from my Marriott account to a friend's Korean Airlines account?

Hi -

I'd like to use SPG points to book a flight for a friend from GRU - LAX (30,000 points each way on Korean) but Korean doesn't allow you to book the flight for anyone outside family. We have already used family accounts when it was family in the past.

With a friend, is it possible for me to directly transfer SPG points to the friend's Korean Skypass Account and then they would use the miles themselves to purchase the flight?

I have the same question re: Chase Ultimate rewards -- am I able to transfer the UR to an account that is not in my name to get around Korean's rules about not allowing non-family to be on a mileage ticket.

Any help appreciated!

Checking the terms and conditions for transfers to Korean Air at spg.com, I found this:

"...Both the Starwood Preferred Guest and SKYPASS accounts must have identical member names in order to complete this request; different names will cause the transfer to be rejected."

So, this would not be possible for transferring Starpoints to Korean Air.
