Not HHH ... If I were traveling solo, I'd do the 4 points because I'm cheap. Traveling with anyone else I'd do the Westin Savannah.

Even though the Westin is on an island there is a free ferry boat service that runs throughout the day (really isn't an inconvenience that much) and taxi's can be had for $15 to the resort.

i saw the ferry schedule (every 10 min) so that is not a problem, as we probably won't be staying out past 11:30.

Happy to make recommendations on what to do here too. If you use twitter at all ask Visit Savannah for tips / suggestions too; they're great people - http://twitter.com/visitsavannah

sand gnats will be in town and i want to check them out on either a T, W, or R night. any promos they typically do on any of those nights that you're aware of? i should have a rental car.

i think i answered my own question on the promos. thursday looks promising.

Staying here now and quite pleased with the property. Great price, solid location and the front desk was exceptional. Had parking for our oversized vehicle included in resort fee. TV had HDMI input for our own entertainment (many do now). Room is clean, comfortable and quiet.

Took the ferry across the river to the Pirate House for dinner. It was very good as well. All in all, a wonderful stay.

Just had a 5 day stay.Very impressed with the resort, especially the staff who were all incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming throughout. Would stay again in a flash.

Platinum breakfast is everything on the buffet except hot items. Decent, but not exceptional. Not sure if there is a buy up alternative.

I have stayed there twice the last year and had to pay the resort fee both times. Any alternative amenity was not offered, and I did (after some arguing) get some points from CS after dropping them an email about this.

Lurkers-can you figure out what's going on with this property & resort fee alternative for PLT?

Thanks

I also understand that a suite upgrade here is all but impossible.

The SPG Hotel Coordinators are following up with the property concerning this.

When I was there I got comped valet parking. Nice, but selfpark is a piece of cake at this hotel.
