Plus, reservations are not running very smoothly. Still struggle with corporate rates for some hotels and putting the SPG number on fine in advance...

I really like this collaboration with Design Hotels. In some cities, it offer so much more choices and for a wider range of budget (Paris for example).
So far I've stayed at:
The Cambrian Adelboden: very nice stay in the middle of the Bernese Alps
The STRAF Milan: alright if you manage to get a cheap price, better than the Four Points and better located. But can get noisy with the bar downstairs and you have to like the industrial/concrete design.
Next ones coming up:
Sir Savigny Berlin
Fresh Hotel Athens

The room was spacious, with a balcony. I booked a room facing South, towards the mountains, overlooking the pool. The ones facing North will have a "view" on buildings....
Comfortable bed, nice bathroom with a shower. The spa area is great, with a mixed sauna, be warned haha. The outdoor pool is nice and good for relaxation but can get crowded very fast as it's quite small.
Now a tiny detail.... when you look at their photos, it looks like it's some kind of infinity pool with the Alps as a backdrop. You do get those but you see a lot of the houses from the village, the roofs, etc.... you would have to play with angles and asking your subject to stand right in front of a building in order to capture that perfect frame

It's been about a month since the last property joined. Wonder if we have reached a point where there aren't many more properties interested or whether Marriott have changed the strategy for Design Hotel properties ?

It's a nice hotel. The staff was great and friendly, escorting you to your room when you're done checking-in. Breakfast options are really good without being huge.

Are there Plat lounges at these design hotels or at least breakfast? Thinking of staying at the Cosmo Hotel, Berlin. Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

You earn points, nights, rooms can be redeemed and you get bonus welcome points, that's about it but it's not too bad for places that don't have good SPG options.
And most Design Hotels are quite new and well.... stylish/design.

Nice hotel - but the location is a little bit too remote for me.
You get free wifi and a water. And a nicer room (depends on availability)
BUT you only get night/points credit when you book through an SPG Channel (no 3rd parties - even for my corporate rate at the roomers I do not receive any credit as I cannot book it through spg.com/app/etc.)
