It is very well situated for the Olympic Park, Stratford Shopping Centre and very handy for transport links of all kinds, into London, all around the UK and even the Eurostar.

The other Moxy that opened nearby, and is close to the Excel Exhibition centre and London City Airport, looks to be successful; so there is no reason why this one won't be. The only thing about both of them, is that there are lots of other 'low end to mid range' chain hotels very close to them.

Some people who are visiting London may be put off by the fact that they are in the old east end, and a fair way from the centre, but the DLR and the Jubilee Line make getting into the centre of London a doddle.

Thanks for the additional information. Much appreciated. It's also a lesser category than some of the other London properties, so for those redeeming points & willing to take transport provides another option.

Cheers.

Stayed here recently on a quick overnighter (for a gig at the 02 it's brilliantly located). In short? Not impressed. No MR recognition at all. No kettle/tea/coffee facilities in room. No iron/ironing board in room. Inexplicably hot in the room even after attempting AC adjustment. Decent enough bed/shower/connectivity though. Thankfully. Brekkie was truly awful. Dreadful (stale?) bread, the weakest coffee I have had in years, malfunctioning orange juice machine (yes, it was that bad!). The staff were also a bit of problem, in that every interaction was met with a sense that they were being interrupted from doing something more interesting. Perhaps I caught them on a bad day. In short they seem to think its a "cool" vibe that they have. In reality it came across as pretty sad. Needless to say, I wouldn't stay again.

Moxy Stratford. Never again! Disinterested staff. Very basic room. Nasty breakfast. No, no & no.

Moxy Stratford, new, clean, well populated and lively bar. Room was basic but had a comfy bed, great shower and good TV. Would I stay there for a week? No. But for a quick cheap one-nighter just a 2 min walk from the tube it was excellent.

Just had our first stay at this hotel - overall I was very happy.
Rate was ridiculously cheap at £59 for two of us. On arrival we should have had a large corner room, but it wasn't ready, so we took a smaller room on the fifth floor, as we were only there one night, and room was just for sleeping in!
Room was clean, quiet and comfortable - bathroom was very small but perfectly serviceable, bed was excellent and we got a good night's sleep.

At check in, we were given two £10 casino chips, which we were told we could either use in the bar that evening or for breakfast.

We elected to use them for breakfast, which was adequate - fruits, cereals, lots of nice breads, pastries, cheeses, juices and cold meats. Coffee from machine was acceptable.I didn't see much of hot choice but what was there was sufficient for me.
Lots of the quirky Moxy styling was in evidence - eg - the water dispenser in the breakfast area is labelled at 'Alcohol free vodka!'. They also have lots of self service lockers of varying sizes in the lobby, rather than in-room safes.

I got the impression that a fair few of the staff were new, and I also suspect they don't get too many plats staying there. ;-)

Given the rate that we paid, I would have no problem staying there again, but probably not for more than two or three nights. - it is really handy for the Stratford transport hub, the Westfield shopping centre , the Olympic Park and everything east of the city.

Currently staying here, first time at a Moxy property. So far impressions are really good. Got the 10 pound casino chip to use in the bar or for breakfast. Got a nice (normal) room at the 7th floor - no specific view. For me as a European visitor I like that there are USB plugs to use your own phone charger everywhere, and there even is a European plug at the desk. I haven't used the travel adapter that I brought. You can stream any media from your phone to the television in your room - that worked smoothly with my iPhone 7s. Wifi was working well in my room.

The ground floor looks a bit like a hipster coworking space: people hanging around with laptops all day, working from the bar or 'library' area.

I arrived at St Pancras International Train Station by Eurostar and it took me less than 20 minutes to get to the hotel by a connecting train, leaving every 10 minutes from the track right next to the Eurostar. Flying out from London City Airport on Wednesday and that's not too far either.
The subways to go to central London literally stop at 3 minutes walking from the hotel.

If you have a large travel budget, stay at the 200-400 GBP/night properties downtown and get your way around by cab. If you're used to taking public transport, this hotel is perfect. For the 70 GBP that I've paid per night, I've had a great stay.

Just a quick update for anyone who's staying here. I've stayed a couple of times here and if you have also been here, make sure to check your credit card and invoice!

I've had a 2-room stay here in a single reservation on a prepaid rate, which they've decided to split it into 2 reservations. About a month before the stay, I've noticed that my credit card was charged 3 times. I've called the hotel, sent them loads of emails and all they said was: the difference in the charged and booked rate is probably taxes. Taxes which equal exactly 100% of a room rate are new to me, but okay. Had to call Marriott Rewards platinum service to contact the hotel. No apologies or sorry, but they credited the money back. In the meanwhile, the pound value has changed, so it costed me money, but okay.

Now after the stay they've sent me an invoice which didn't show any additional charges, yet they charged my credit card for F&B costs. Even if there were any, the amount was within the platinum F&B credit they should offer. I've emailed the hotel and they provided a new folio with F&B charges, under 10 USD, printed. Emailed them again to get it corrected and in the meanwhile called MR to email to hotel to take this seriously.

It's so frustrating when you've had a really nice stay, but you're spending literally hours afterwards on checking every detail on your invoice because Moxy's finance dept just screws up.

Lesson learned for this hotel: check your invoice and credit card statement after staying here.

What are the Plat benefits at this hotel? Last I stayed at the Moxy Dublin City they had free breakfast. Looking for a 2-week stay in London. Thanks for any insights.

Besides points or 10 GBP credit for F&B at check-in, I didn't get any benefits in particular.

Have stayed here a few weeks over the past month during a work gig at Canary Wharf. If you are just looking for a place to sleep that is close to Canary Wharf, I think the moxy's does it, as the Jubilee line is a 3-4 minute walk and only a few stops from the Wharf.

It feels a bit like a small brother of the W, also pretty trendy, design, and party-style. I thought it was okay for what it was.

Have to second what arjen mentioned on the check-out and billing procedure, though. I can't think of a week where I did not have some sort of issue with my folio and the staff never really got it right.

Despite the issues with billing discussed above, I’m quite keen to try this brand/ specifically this hotel. The thing that stops me: no kettle. Tea addicts must be unwelcome here. I hate this no kettle trend ( Four Points Barcelona, Le M Etoile are offenders as well, although they relent and deliver one if pushed)

Thanks for the insight. The GBP10 credit is not daily, is it? For example at Courtyard you do get a daily allowance.
