Will the additional cardholders on my Starwood Business Amex account get access to the Sheraton Club lounge? What about guests in additional rooms I'm also paying for?
"This benefit is for Basic Card Members only on Starpoint Eligible Rate reservations...Sheraton Club lounge access is limited to the eligible Card Member and a guest staying in the same room for the duration of the stay, regardless of how many rooms have been reserved." (See Starwood FAQs.)
Which hotel brands with the Sheraton name will offer the lounge benefit? The benefit is offered at all Sheraton-branded properties, including Sheraton Grand hotels, with the exception of any Luxury Collection property. It is not available at Four Points by Sheraton hotels.
Club access if I book my stay with points or cash+points?
Per Starwood Lurker, yes.

Sorry, I am just seeing your message. I am checking out tomorrow, so I don't need the access anymore. But in the future, I will email you to make sure the procedure is followed.
Thanks,

Does this get you in Marriott clubs with an SPG Biz Amex?
Since the merger, can you get in Marriott clubs with the SPG Biz Amex?

We have a rez for ourselves and our children (ages 8, 14, 17) at the Sheraton Buganvilias in Puerto Vallarta. On the website, it states that Club Level guest rooms are restricted to adult only. Though I would've liked the possible upgrade (we are SPG Gold), I'm fine without it due to the kid restriction.
However, the primary reason I booked the Sheraton was so that we could enjoy breakfast and hors d'oeuvres in the Club Lounge (a perk with our SPG biz Amex cards). Reviews online state anecdotally that children have been permitted in the lounge. But my inquiry to the hotel got this reply: we can eat breakfast in the restaurant as an alternative (b/c of the kids). This is a reasonable alternative, and I'm grateful.
On the other hand, I really want my two older children to be able to visit the lounge on their own to fetch a soda or a snack during the day. This has always been the #1 reason we select hotel chains were we have lounge access/status. Gives our teens some independence. And depending on the nature of the restaurant alternative, I think I might actually prefer to be able to have breakfast at the club.
Technically, the site says the club level guest rooms are adult only, but it does not say the club itself is excluded. And of course that anecdotal evidence. So I guess my question is this: do adult-only club level guest rooms also = adult-only club lounge? If yes, then how likely will the hotel be to allow my very tall, very quiet and mature teens to drop in for a soda?

Does anyone know how the Lounge access is handled in cases where the lounge is closed (both scheduled and unscheduled closures)?
My understanding is that if you're a SPG Platinum or paid for a Club Lounge room, then there are datapoints suggesting you can get breakfast vouchers / appetizer or drink vouchers if the lounge is closed (even for scheduled closures on the weekend). Does anyone know if the lounge access via the SPG Business card is treated the same way?
I'm trying to decide if I should get a lounge room to make sure that I get breakfast included with the room for a Thurs - Sunday visit, and it looks like the Lounge is closed on the weekends.

Is this only for the US Amex Business SPG card, or also the Canadian version? I might get one.

My biggest concern is the International properties - do they know about this benefit? Given the struggle we have seen even among the US properties, I am a bit apprehensive that a property in, say, Poland, would know about such benefit exists.
Is it an automatic process that SPG or AMEX would send a service code to the hotel 3 days prior eligible guest's arrival as Williams has alluded to in post 114 and 116 upthread?

I called ahead and it was confirmed that I'd get 1 breakfast voucher and 1 drink/appetizer voucher per person (in my room) for each day the lounge was closed.
Good news!

lounge access when not paying with card
I never saw this in writing. Does lounge access require payment by the SPG Biz AMEX, or can I pay with any CC?
I have gotten the lounge access successfully at the Sheraton Tribeca in NY. (great little hotel with decent, but sometimes crowded lounge). The well trained professional check-in staff said, with that purple credit card you get lounge access.
But when I spoke to SPG reservations by phone, they said I did not qualify for lounge access at the Royal Orchid Sheraton in Bangkok, unless I paid for the stay with the SPG AMEX Biz card.
Can anyone confirm if I can pay for the reservation with a different credit card but still get Sheraton Club access as a SPG Biz AMEX cardholder? Or does it always need to be paid for by this CC? Is there any where in writing that I can refer to?

There's a Pay 2 Stay 3 with MasterCard right now in Asia, and if I prepay the room on SPG.com with the MasterCard but show my SPG Biz Amex, will I get Sheraton Club access?

i had a similar issue with that hotel recently. nice hotel..great pool. but front desk staff is OUT TO LUNCH. the front desk manager or whoever is in charge always seems to hide in the back unless he's making a decision, which in my case was unfair. also, i caught the employees talking to eachother (five of them for like 40 minutes) they had no consideration for the guests in my opinion.
