SPG Transfer Bonus History
Dear all:
I am just curious to know if anyone can share some information on the history of when SPG has had Transfer bonuses. Not referring to the 5K bonus for the 20K airline transfers.
The only bonuses that I am aware of are the following:
SPG to Aeroplan 20%-25% (April & July 2015)
SPG to American 20% (July 2015)
SPG to British 10% (Sept 2014)
Any additional information is more than welcome. Thank you.

The Aeroplan one occurs around twice a year, currently offered maximum
of 40,000 bonus AE miles for 150,000 SPG = 26.67%.
Combined with the usual 25% SPG bonus, that equates to 120,000 SPG = 190,000 AE.

Would that 20% bonus for American be on top of the 5K if 20,000 points was transferred?

Hold it. I'm aware of the current Aeroplan promo where they offer you bonuses for transferring points into your Aeroplan account from any source (not just SPG).
Is OP referring to this, or is there/was there a separate SPG promo where SPG gave 20-25% bonus points as stated in OP's post?

Thanks! I did a little research after posting that - the 20$ AA transfer ends at the end of August. No way I can get my bonus and apply it by then. I'll save the points and hope the offer comes up again in the future.

Does SPG offer bonus deals to AS as well or only AA/AC etc?

BA have lately been excluding SPG transfers from its hotel conversion bonuses. (since SPG is the only hotel programme where transfers to miles actually make sense)
Aeroplan does this fairly frequently. Which should give pause... as a stand-alone company, they obviously find it quite lucrative to receive hotel point conversions so maybe the value for consumers might not be there...
