leads to this webpage

and the Flexible Dates option brings up a Calendar with no available dates - seems that the rate has not been loaded correctly for the 4 Pts

The Four Points has now been removed from the list of properties participating in this promotion.

Not quite the solution I was expecting but a solution nonetheless I suppose.

We asked them if we could have roll-aways for the kids or have them sleep on the floor so we could all be in one room. They very firmly, but politely, said no.
Does anyone kindly know if this is still true?

I would like to attempt to book 3 adults into a regular room (Premium City / Harbour view). Specifically the configuration using two single beds. One couple and one sister.

1. Can it be done? As in, can it be booked?

2. Are the single beds large enough for two as pictured on the website? They seem more "twin" like. . .

The website seem to push you into a Premium Deluxe Harbour View Room if three persons are selected.

We have several AMEX Free Weekend Night awards which would cause us to choose this place over the Westin / Sheraton as it is a category 4.

Thanks in advance...

Can't help on your specific question, but I've always found this hotel to be extremely responsive to emailed questions - [email protected]

My experience too. Plus you'll have a written confirmation of the answer in case there's any misunderstanding when you get there.

Cheers,

Just as an FYI in case it comes up in the future...

This hotel has a (single) shower in the fitness center on the first floor. They will happily give you access if you arrive before your room is ready and want to have a shower.

So in the interests of helping others here - I corresponded with the hotel and only two persons are allowed in the base level Premium City / Harbour view rooms. They are citing security concerns.

One still has to go for the larger room size if you want 3 persons.

Problems with Reservations Disappearing From View

The hotel had an upgrade to its reservation system several months ago and I have had several instances where I could not find upcoming reservations online. Even their reservation department can't find some of my reservations using my SPG number and/or credit card number - at times they are only able to locate reservations with confirmation number and date of arrival. I sent an email to the hotel today and hopefully will get an explanation.

Today I received an email from your hotel regarding an upcoming stay Confirmation Number 08xxxxxx

The email includes the following:
Your Starwood Preferred Guest Details
Member Name:
3544quebec
SPG Number:
xxxxxx729

If I search my email account with this confirmation number I do indeed find that I made this reservation almost 3 months ago.

This reservation does not appear in the list of upcoming reservations when I log into my SPG account.Similarly, if I search using the credit card I use to guarantee my reservations made this reservation does not appear in the list of reservations linked to my credit card.

If I search using this confirmation number on spg.com I get the following:

Please enter the last name on the reservation and one additional piece of information.
Confirmation number 08xxxxxx Last Name 3544quebec
No stays linked to this account were found.

It is really disturbing to me that I have made reservations at your hotel through spg.com using my spg number and credit card that I cannot access via any method. I have other reservations that do not appear in my spg account logging into My Stays with my SPG number but do appear if I search via my credit card number. I need to have confidence that when i make a reservation i will be able to see it on the website and modify/cancel the reservation if necessary - at present I cannot have that confidence in your reservation system.

If not for the fact that your hotel sends out these We Look Forward to Your Upcoming Stay I would not have known that I still had this reservation and would have been liable for the penalty for a No Show.

I would appreciate if your reservation department would cancel reservation 08xxxxxxx - I would have cancelled weeks ago if I had realised that the reservation still existed.

I just got back from my stay and I loved the hotel for my first visit to Sydney.

I reserved a prepaid city-side room online ($148AUD/night) and was upgraded to a harbour-side room as a SPG Gold member. I was also able to access my room immediately upon check in at 11:00. I was asked if I would be taking advantage of late check out, which I declined because my flight is in the morning. The harbour-side room was amazing, as I got to see a great view of the Darling Harbour Saturday night fireworks right from my room!

I chose free wifi as my Gold benefit on check in and purchased the three day package on the online portal, figuring they would refund it later. Upon check out, I was told my incidentals were $50 (cost of the Internet). I explained to the host I had chosen wifi as my Gold benefit rather than points, and as expected, she refunded the cost of the Internet and gave me the Gold 125 bonus Starpoints too as an apology.

On a side note, they are currently giving access to hotel guests to the gym across the street because their gym is undergoing renovations.

Just spent five nights at this under-construction property.

The noise doesn't stop. Two of the five nights must have had 24-hour crews. When the front desk was asked for a quieter room, they initially didn't believe about the late night construction and even after making calls to confirm, wouldn't change to a quieter room.

I've looked again and again and the property never mentions the construction.

SPG recognition was also minimal. No waters, newspapers, barely replenished toiletries, and I had to have breakfast charges removed at the end of the stay.

Can't recommend this hotel until construction is finished sometime 2016. Otherwise, great location not far from anything. Excellent world-rated cocktail bar just two blocks away.

It is mentioned on their Announcements page:

Hotel Redevelopment Project until June 2016

Please note that there is an ongoing redevelopment project from July 2014 to June 2016. Changes will include 222 additional guest rooms, 4,800 square metres of new conference facilities, and new food and drink options. Noise is expected during this time, but we are working with our developers to ensure there are minimal disruptions.

My apologies, but you may want to file a formal complaint with Corporate Customer Service. They can be reached via email at [email protected]
