This thread is for discussion of the new benefits & fee structure announced in June 2015. For general discussion of the SPG Amex, see SPG American Express [Master Thread].
Will the additional cardholders on my Starwood Business Amex account get access to the Sheraton Club lounge? What about guests in additional rooms I'm also paying for?

"This benefit is for Basic Card Members only on Starpoint Eligible Rate reservations...Sheraton Club lounge access is limited to the eligible Card Member and a guest staying in the same room for the duration of the stay, regardless of how many rooms have been reserved." (See Starwood FAQs.)
Which hotel brands with the Sheraton name will offer the lounge benefit? The benefit is offered at all Sheraton-branded properties, including Sheraton Grand hotels, with the exception of any Luxury Collection property. It is not available at Four Points by Sheraton hotels.
Wiil I still get Club access if I book my stay with points or cash+points?Per Starwood Lurker in post #104, yes.

The 10K bonus on business card with first purchase is not limited to once in a lifetime. If you are mostly concerned about not paying the annual fee and just needing to have at least 1 AX card for Costco shopping and keeping your SPG points active, like I am, just switch back and forth every year between personal and business SPG.
I just applied for and got approval on a new SPG business card, no fee 1st year because my current one expires in July. All I'll get is the 10K first spend bonus but I'll preserve my 400K SPG points another year. I never stay in Starwood hotels; get all my points from spend.

Sorry I did not read the whole thread if someone already said this..
Amex should have some sort of maximum annual fee per person ($500 or something?) for those of us with multiple cards. Right now between my spouse and I we have the Platinum, the Delta Platinum and the SPG card. We pay too many fees to Amex, but want all the benefits. With being SPG Platinum the card is not really that helpful, so perhaps this will be the one to drop.

that's the way I do it
So, to be clear, you always hold a SPG Amex. But, you apply for a new card that is the opposite of the card that you currently hold (business or personal) prior to the annual fee hitting your current card. Then, when you have the new card you cancel the old card? That sounds like what I am wondering about doing. Plus, I can get the bonus points on the business card (never had that card) and it would be great to get them every other year, even if only 10K. It is a bit of extra work. But, it would save me the now $95 fee and give me some extra points at least every other year. I'm not sure they even offered signup points on the personal card when I first got it 14 years ago . . . .

You personally wouldn't care. For those of us that are a little bit younger and don't have as thick of profiles do. It was a nice way to get a card and bump your AAoA.

I do know that, but it won't be until sometime in 2016. There will likely be at least 6 more months of Costco only taking AX. Has Costco announced what month they will sever ties with AX and start taking VISA?

The benefit is extended to the primary cardholder only.

I would be sure that your name is added as a guest to the room and present your credit card at check-in, but it may be as much a gray area as this one is.

Is there any chance a property would grant Club access before August 11th?
