No more 4pm Late Check out for Golds ? [Answer: the benefit is unchanged]

I just received my new Gold Card and in the folder of Benefits there is no more late check out for Golds as a Benefit listed.
Only for Platinums and not even guaranted any more.
By by Spg and welcome Hilton for me.

I would expect their website to be more up-to-date than anything printed.

just curious, how many times you've used this benefit?

if so, have you got the "approval" to stay all the way until 4pm?

I was quite annoyed when I had a hard time getting 4PM Late CO through the phone as a Gold. I was staying at that hotel quite frequently. Every time, the operator would fight and argue that late CO didn't exist.

It was only until later, when I had the chance to spoke with senior management that the property owner has told 1st line operators to make such claim and only approve the request when escalated to a manager. Using a conference and resort property as the reason.

They did improve and ask for departure time at CI nowadays, be it might be because I'm plat now.

I've used this quite a few times, even as late as 4PM. Been asked at checkin many other times if I'd like to have it. Never had it refused at a non resort/conference center.

Please let us know which property you are referring to so that other FT'ers can be prepared when staying there (or may choose to avoid based on this blatant attempt to deprive us of benefits). Also, it would allow the lurkers to report this practice if they feel so inclined. I personally hate it when I am forced to demand benefits that have been promised to me and are one of the main, if not the only, reason I stay at a chain's hotels.

Gold, Plat or not..........this is a benefit I really like and use, especially on leisure / vacation travel. Definitely comes in very handy for those later flights!

I also used this Benefit ,almost on every second stay, and it was granted about 80% of my stays.
So it was quite shocking for me to read it on the Benefits flyer today, that this is no more a Gold Benefit?
Maybe starwood Lurker can give us some clarification about.
Thanks
