Westin doesn't have a lounge. I don't know if the Sheraton's is open on the weekends. I was recently at the Sheraton and as a plat I typically get upgraded (did this past trip).

Stayed early August on C+P's
Photos of 'Luxury Suite' 1905
The front desk agents seemed very friendly. Upgraded to a "Luxury Suite" on the top floor with two beds. My initial thought was that this was no where close to the 1,300 sq ft suite shown on their website, but it was a nice room with an outside balcony. The bathroom was large but had a dated look.
Two negatives stood out about the hotel:
1) It took 5-10 minutes for someone to pick up at the front desk. I called down the day of arrival and it took about 5 minutes of ringing, and then on departure (1pm) it took almost 10 minutes to call down to let them know I was checking out and would need my car.
2) There were renovations going on that I don't remember being listed on their website. It sounded like a mixture of vuvuzelas and french horns till about 5pm.

Just completed a nice stay here. Per the earlier comments, I didn't expect a suite upgrade for a three-night stay but I was very happy with "corner room on a higher floor" that we received (1322). Typical Westin decor, but was plenty large and had a nice view of snow-capped mountains and the clock tower.
While checking I was asked if it was a special occasion and I said I was here for business but that my wife was with me since it was also our anniversary. Later that day, champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries and an anniversary card were sent to our room, which I thought was a very classy move.

Since no one has posted in over year, I thought I'd give a quick review.
I've stayed at the Westin Downtown off and on the past couple of months, bouncing between the Sheraton and aloft as well. I prefer the Westin to the Sheraton. The Westin has a good location with lots of restaurants nearby.
-As a Gold, I generally get rooms on the 13th or 14th floor (out of 19 floors I think). I think once I had a room with a view, but that's not the norm. I feel they are a bit stingy with providing me an enhanced room (decent view), but I'm barely in the room anyway. The rooms are fairly nice with the exception of the bathroom. The bathroom could use an update to match the rest of the room.
-Plugs are not located next to the bed in the rooms I've stayed in.
-The gym is nice, although it doesn't really have windows. It's been very crowded in the morning and I've had to wait to run or use a cardio machine. I don't think any of the treadmills are connected to cable, so there is no TV in the gym.
-The pool is indoor and outdoor, but mainly outdoor. It was fine but nothing to write home about.
-There is a Starbucks on the ground floor.
-Self park is $19 a night and you can use your key to swipe in and out.
-Free internet so no need to pick internet as the amenity.
-Participates in green choice program.
In summary, good location, nice rooms with the exception of the bathroom, friendly staff, and average facilities. It gets the job done for business travel, but it's nothing special for personal travel.

Warning! Deceptive parking pricing!
Self park at this facility is $6 on weekends, or max $18 for a 24 hour period during the week. Yet the Westin tries to charge $25 (yes, it is a benefit to have in and out, but I'm guessing many won't need it). Believe it or not, this is more than the $20 "lost ticket charge"!
I confronted the front desk about this, and the rep said (of the $6 rate) "that doesn't allow for overnight parking", which clearly isn't the case. I didn't see any charge on my bill, so I assumed I would just pay the $6 at the parking exit machine, but I was charged $25.
Lurkers, please let me know how to proceed with this issue - paying an additional $19 isn't the end of the world, but I feel ripped off. And future guests should be aware.

Any hotel stay issues should be reported and a customer service file opened. You can do this by calling, chatting or emailing [email protected]. Or, if you prefer, send us the details and we'll open the file for you.

EDIT: have come to an agreement of a small Starpoint credit as a gesture, which I am satisfied with. However, to me the rep's interpretation of the garage sign I posted above does not make sense, and nowhere does it mention $25:
The signage that is posted in the parking garage entrances states that the $6 weekend rate only applies to any vehicles that are out by 5am the following day. Anything past 5am is charged the standard overnight rate of $25. Same goes for the $18 daily max rate, which is Mon-Fri and also applies only if the car is out by 5am.
Buyer (or parker) beware.

Hello - debating between the Westin as SPG Plat and the Four Seasons with a very competitive corporate rate but no extra benefits. Any recommendations for a weekend, leisure stay in Denver? Plan to be a bit touristy but mostly just eat, drink and chill.
Thanks,
Thanks,

Four Seasons -- hands down. IMO, no array of Platinum benefits (as much as I like them) gets close to bringing the hotel up to the level of the Four Seasons. It's a very nice property in Denver. Will make for an exceptional weekend of consumption and chillin.

I was leaning towards the FS also. Appreciat the quick reply!

It's nice. Public rate can be crazy expensive. Good location. Nice gym. No lounge. There's a Palm attached to the property.
I did a night at the Sheraton last week (first time) and I found it too massive for my tastes.

Stayed here in the fall - great property. I made an offhand comment on the post-stay survey and had a message from the GM within 24 hours apologizing for something that I didn't even remember commenting on - and when we returned on a following stay we had a gift basket, etc. to apologize. Way beyond the customer treatment I'm used to from other hotels.
