Best SPG Hotel for 15,000 points?
Hi all,
I was one of the lucky ones who got an Uber+Starwood car in London on Saturday. I now have 15,000 points as well as part of the promotion. I was wondering what the best SPG hotels around the world for 15,000 points?
I'm willing to travel - just would like to try out one of the best SPG hotels with the best amenities.
I'll be in Zurich in a couple weeks so perhaps a hotel in that region...and I'll be on the US West Coast (Seattle/SF) in April so maybe around there as well?
Or maybe one in Asia somewhere? look forward to the suggestions - thank you

Lucky you!
Problem is that 15k points will not go far at the most aspirational properties. Not even a night at most of them.
I do have a suggestion for you though. In a few days, the Sheraton Fuerteventura will drop to a category 2. It is a lovely resort in the Canary Islands with a great spa. The spa does cost 20 € extra per day unless you book a service. I had a very nice stay there last month. It is often ranked a Member Favorite, which is how I discovered it. 15k points will get you several nights there. Category 2 is 3k for a weekend night, 4k for a weeknight.
Don't let the low category dissuade you. This is a nice resort, although I would not call it the best that SPG has to offer. It may be one of the best for "bang for the buck" though.
Perhaps others can help you find a few more hidden gems like this one.

2 nights at Convento do Espinheiro in Evora, Portugal. Dropping to Cat 3 so 15k points would get you 2 nights there.

I read somewhere that the 15K points giveaway could only be used on Category 5 and lower properties. Just FYI.

No. The marketing said that the points can be used to pay for a free night at a Category 1-5 hotel. That doesn't mean you can't use the points towards a night at a Category 6 or 7 hotel, it's just that the points are insufficient to cover a night.
