Day room at Sheraton Gateway LAX - what check out time for spg Plat?

I have a day room at the Sheraton Gateway LAX with the official checkout time being 6 PM. As a platinum, would they extend that, given that on normal overnight rates I have a late checkout privilege? To what time would they extended, something like 7 PM or 7:30 PM?

Any experience would be greatly appreciated

They're certainly not obligated to give you a late checkout on a day rate. Obviously YMMV and they might extend a courtesy if the hotel isn't ffull, depending on their housekeeping schedule.

I would try negotiating check in, check out, and rate directly with the hotel.

How did you booked a day rate with the SPG?
With HHonors, it is easy by just having the same check-in and check-out dates.
Whenever I try to search using same dates for check-in and check-outs, I always gets an error.

Day rooms are a nicer option over spending long hours at the airport when the layover is long. I can grab a good shower, do some work and maybe a drink with better privacy..

Right now, most of these goes to HHonors and not SPG as I just can't get the search to go through.

My assistant booked it, either through our corporate travel agent or by calling the hotel directly. Indeed, I couldn't get it online either.

Try to search for regular 1 night stay and then at some hotels you might get a day rate to show up. They're definitely there - just not as easy to spot as Hiltons.

The check-out time depends on the room availability.

I would recommend to get in touch with the hotel to inquire about later check-outs.
