So either the IT is faulty or SPG terms originally stated are not valid.

Can I not get SPG points for both flying DL and EK? I understand I will only get DL points when staying at SPG, it makes sense to only get one.

So did I completely waste my time for registering the promotion with EK?

Sorry about the confusion. So to clarify, you can only use the benefits of either one or the other program.

As William said, if you want us to look further into this, I'd recommend to send us an email with your details.

Just FYI this is the link as documented in the FAQ, but if you hover over the link it actually goes here:

http://spgpromos.com/myairlinepartner

When I follow the first link I get sent to the SPG site and forever looped back to a login page. When I go to the link on spgpromos.com then I go to the correct page that lets me set my partner.

If I'm to understand this promotion right, it is basically double-dip (points), every SPG points I get I will also get 1 point in my Emirates FFP. (I don't care about benefits as I'm OWE already)

It's been a month now, I'm Emirates Silver, and I have activities in my SPG account, but I don't see any in my Emirates account. Is there usually a delay in posting double-dip? Just wondering, thanks.

Hi Cathay Boy,

If you would like us to help look into missing Skywards Miles for a stay at an SPG-participating hotel, you can send us an email with your details.

Program is useless unless EK is your primary carrier.

As I understood it in the beginning:

I get SPG points when flying DL (DL pays SPG)

I get DL points when staying at SPG (SPG pays DL)

I get SPG points when flying EK (EK pays SPG)

Now I find out since DL is my partner for SPG stays I get no SPG points for flying EK?

I understand SPG would only give points to one airline when staying at SPG. But why would SPG not allow EK to buy SPG points?? This makes no sense.

I fly EK 6-8 times a year and their points are of little value to me, so it would be nice to get a little something.

SPG needs to revisit how this works.

I like SPG but this was very poorly rolled out.

I just burned all my EK points (2 years worth) for an upgrade so I have no incentive to fly them now.

Not allowed business class check in at DXB yesterday, and no priority boarding. No one had heard about "Your worlds reward". One lady in the Business class check-in said see looked up at the computer and said some partners was granted business class check in, but this partnership did not qualify.

Missing Points redress

So points have posted in my EK account but nothing showed up in my SPG account.

Provided the information to my Ambassador who then tells me that I need to reach out to Emirates.

Not really the kind of process I would expect from such partnership and all the good will I had for Emirates has evaporated. A bit disappointing.

I've had the same experience several times at check-in - they don't seem to be aware of the "partner" qualification (which is on the Boarding pass), nor of "Your World Rewards".

As per the Emirates email these are the benefits:

•Earn Starpoints as well as Skywards Miles on Emirates flights
•Enjoy priority check-in and boarding when you fly with Emirates
•Once you achieve Silver Emirates Skywards status, you'll also earn Miles when you stay with SPG

My accounts are linked and have not received any benefits from Emirates. Luckily the business class check-in agent let me use their line. However, priority boarding was not. Also, I did not receive the points for the flights yet. You think after over a year, they would have worked things out.

I have recently stayed in a SPG property and I have already been credited the miles with Emirates. Let's see now how long it will take that my flight of two days ago gets credited on SPG. On my side even if it is only a few points on each programme more, I am quite happy with it

I registered for YW Rewards at the beginning of December and just got the 500 points for joining credited two days ago. Flew to Dubai from Kuwait and back on EK December 17th/19th and have yet to see the Starpoints appear, but that's what the two-to-four-week window is for, isn't it?

We shall see. I have another EK/SPG trip in the offing for early January so it'll be nice to see how well these programs complement one another.
