European city hotels with sunny outdoor pools?
Hi all,

I've tried getting info in an existing thread, but its focus is on top properties.

I am looking for a reasonable €€€ property somewhere in Europe with an outdoor pool that gets sun.

Looking at the dates I want, I can find availability in the following properties that match "outdoor pool", but I have no idea what sort of pool it is:

Albania
- Sheraton Tirana

Cyprus
- Le Méridien Limassol

France
- Le Méridien Nice

Greece
- Grande Bretagne

Italy
- Sheraton Roma

Malta
- Le Méridien St Julians
- The Westin Dragonara

Monaco
- Le Méridien Beach Plaza

Portugal
- Sheraton Lisboa

Spain
- W Barcelona (cheapest rate 10,000€...)
- Sheraton Madrid Mirasierra
- Hotel Alfonso XIII Seville


Am I missing some or are there really so few SPG properties that match my criteria?

4P Dornbirn Austria, great SPA and a outdoor pool

Sheraton Catania Italy, never stayed there though

4P Dornbirn was sold out, though I should've included that info also.

Catania looked like it's not really in a city - am I wrong?

Le Meridien Nice I seem to recall is a small rooftop pool which is likely to be crowded - then again, there's the public beach across the street.

I don't remember Sheraton Lisbon having an outdoor pool, but then again I wouldn't go to Lisbon to sit by a pool. Same for Sheraton Roma. Not sure I'd want to sit by a pool in a suburb near a busy road.

Outside your search zone, but the rooftop sun/pool area is at the Four Points in Beirut is nice and the Le Meridien Marrakech has a large outdoor pool zone.

Both Le Meridien Nice and Grande Bretagne Athens are small rooftop pools.

W Barcelona has a nice pool with a popular sundeck.

Around 21 European Sheraton hotels include an outdoor pool.

But can't find out if it would be a rooftop pool or on "groundfloor", and note that some hotels are not open yet

Isn't Palais de la Mediteranee in Nice a Starwood LC? It's above the city with a pool on a terrace.

If Istanbul counts as Europe, they must have some nice outdoor pools.

I've stayed at Le Palais de la Méditerrannée before it was a Hyatt, and I wasn't too much of a fan. I'd just stayed that le Negresco, and the order was wrong. And someone died on the beach while I was at its pool, but let's not digress... :/

The Alphonso XIII in Sevilla has a very nice and sunny outdoor pool, with great poolside service as well!

W Barcelona pool, sun deck and beach are quite an experience. Just spent 4 nights there.
